That's HGVs and buses, rightly so. Basically they will fail the plate if they have steer tyres over 10 years old.

I had an email from SKY today to inform me that the 18 month contract on my phone line and Broadband was finishing in January and giving me some options. One was to go onto a rolling contract at the same cost (£55/month), the other was to start a new 18 month contract with the same service for £29 a month. There's a £10 cost to change (no idea why), but even after that I'm saving £25 a month. Never had that with them before, the prices only go one way normally and it isn't down!

Stolen, shamelessly, from a FB TT page. I suspect a new tyre may have been needed for the next couple of laps!

Is the rider's knee even closer to the ground than the frame?

Just got back from a "last minute" trip to the supermarket to grab some essentials.
Waiting at a set of traffic lights on the M3 roundabout junction closest to home, there was a small procession came round in front of me headed by a hearse with the coffin clearly visible inside. How terribly sad, a funeral on Christmas Eve :-(

Is the rider's knee even closer to the ground than the frame? It'll be on the ground I suspect!
If this was a Moto GP bike, the riders' elbow, if not shoulder, would be scraping the tarmac!

Started the New Year with a tremendous prat fall. Walking in a muddy field I slipped slightly, steadied myself, congratulated myself on staying upright, and then it was as if the rug had been whipped from under me - legs up in the air as the world somersaulted and I was suddenly flat on my back, looking at a winter sun - which was swiftly blocked out by a spaniel looking down at me with a puzzled look. Squelched home a muddy wreck and stripped all my outer garments off in the garage and put them straight into the washing machine.

I did that last year on a muddy path, distinct memory of being perfectly horizontal before hitting the deck. Weird. Bruised?

Sitting in the drive thru this evening and listening to the radio- no politics, sports chat show of some sort. I wasn’t paying attention until they had a live caller and they thought he was serious until he gave his surname as “Longwang”. Then they realised it was all a prank...
Made it more enjoyable waiting for my whopper meal in sub zero weather.

Had a stop over at Philadelphia airport and bought this, someone suggested I put it in my car when I thought about putting it in the bonnet like a Rolls Royce... no? 🤣

Yes, go on ! If you ever get a chance to visit the city of Phili, I recommend that you do I drove through it 9 years ago but didn’t get to visit. It’s one of my to do items. The idea of an X5 with Rocky on the bonnet is intriguing. I’d need an old Trans-Am to do it properly.

Had to spend $500 on the dog at the vets today. He had to get his rabies shot and a few other things- he’s got a congenital thing that a lot of terriers have which affects their nose and eyes. There are some things that I don’t flinch at spending money on and my dogs health is one of them. Worth every penny.

In San Francisco the past few days. stayed at this hotel called The Phoenix. fantastic place in the dodgiest part of the city. in the 90’s, it was the place all the major bands went to when they were in town and a friend of mine who was a roady for The Rolling Stones in the 80’s told me he stayed there with multiple bands over time. very cool place, if you are happy to stay inside the hotel after dark... I saw at least 6 people doing meth outside this morning when I went out for coffee!

I needed to put some petrol in the Fiesta this morning, and as I stopped at Pump number 3, I put fuel in to the value of £33-33 (some of you may recall a posting last year about this amount....)

Wes that just by chance or do you have to avoid anything above pump 5 because the Fiesta won't take £55.55 of petrol?

Because of the way our house has been extended over time, it has a series of walls in the loft and we don’t venture into it as one of the walls only has a small opening in it to get through. I had to go up there for the first time in about 6 years to look at the insulation. This is looking at one of the walls - the black mark is the old chimney.
