Only 4 times a week, what an amateur. I bet he doesn't even keep a bucket of water beside the house for those times he comes back with birdshit on the car Sorry Chris!

We need a new CV friendly protocol for "shaking hands on a deal"? We sold some cattle this morning (at a safe social distance for the entire viewing) and having haggled and agreed the price, both the buyer and me looked at each other and said "well what do we do now, we can't shake hands on it?".

^ I thought bumped elbows was the new shaking hands, I think the Kilingon Klaaargh Doch (Headbanging) greeting was out of fashion these days.
On the Bt front, they eventually got round to fixing the old neighbour's phone, apparently there were crossed wires in the junction but but, "No Bt engineer would do that"! Like she could get up there and do it.

Beaten to it (been busy at work) was going to say because it probably brought me to your mind. There's a lot of pollen or dust in the air at the moment, so much so that even if you wash the car once per day, that may not be enough to keep it clean

There was a fire on the hill behind my house on Saturday, according to the local newspaper 6 engines turned up.
I did see them arriving gradually, together with the firemasetr's car and a response unit van. They had to go up a proper track - 4x4s and tractors only.
Apart from the fire engines there was no sign of the fire at all from the house or on the other side of the hill.

These Bulls-Eye sauces are on special in Morrisons at the mo', so I bought a few to try. I was expecting the Carolina Reaper one to be stupidly hot, but it's actually pretty nice...

Just put the bin out ready for tomorrow's collection. The moon is out in a clear sky so I headed back in and grabbed a camera and long lens. Best of a few quick grab shots (cropped):

Did they put out the barbecue, sorry, fire? They were there all day Sunday too because there's some peaty ground up there and it was on fire too. All probably thanks to someone doing a spot of wild camping.

That's brilliant. What camera settings did you use? 1/500 second, f/7.1 (auto but -3 stops of compensation dialled in) hand-held. ISO200 which is basically the base ISO on the EM10 mk II Camera was an Olympus EM10 mark II bought a few weeks ago for just over £90, very second-hand with iffy shutter that kept jamming closed - but I appear to have cured it with a bit of TLC. The body is a bit scarred and the on-board flash does not work, plus when it turned up the battery door was in pieces but I quickly worked out how to re-assemble and glue it back together. The lens was a second-hand Panasonic Lumix 100-300, set at 300mm. If the weather holds up again tonight and the moon is readily visible in front of the house again, I'll have another go with a different second-hand camera.....

I recently bought a used Canon EOS 550d. It all seems to be in good order so I will have a play. I have an old Canon 100 - 300 lens, so I can use that. Do you shoot in jpeg or raw?

JPEG plus RAW, always so that if I feel the need to enhance I can, but the photo editor with the older version of Microsoft Office is pretty good for a free program when it comes to resizing, cropping and boosting/reducing shadows and highlights. Tonight's effort with a used Nikon D5500 and a Sigma 150-600 also hand-held but "supported" on the wheelie bin.... its so much heavier than the Olympus/Lumix combination. If I have another go tomorrow I'll have to get the tripod out ! ISO100, spot metering with no compensation, 1/640s @ f/6.3 at 600mm

Herself's very favourite tipple of choice! Also here. Although I've recently started buying Villa Maria with the gold label and top (rather than the standard stuff). It was 50p more then Oyster Bay and worth the difference for the extra dryness.

I was tempted by a vino slush puppy as it thawed, but I expect defrosted wine doesn't taste that great...

Went for a nice walk yesterday evening. One of the neighbours cats decided to tag along. After about a mile (!) someone came the other way with a dog, it ran up to the cat, got swiped and then chased the cat up a tree. Tried to persuade the cat down for 15 minutes and then had to go and tell the neighbour their cat was stuck 30 feet up a tree a mile away!
They managed to get it to come down eventually.
