When I wear normal black shoes to work, by normal I mean the type of black shoes people in offices wear, by lunchtime the right one needs retied as its worked loose. This has only started happening over the last year or so and it doesn't happen with any of my other footwear - trainers, boots, etc. Do you cross you feet under the desk and catch the lace on the right foot when you move or uncross your feet? I don't think so, if I do then I've been doing it for years so the lace thing would've happened for a lot longer

This happens to me when I spend most of the day walking anti-clockwise. If I do more clockwise it's the left that comes undone. I've started monitoring it so can even it out now. Do you ever get anywhere Bob - forever going round in circles!

About time Apple improved the camera, Samsung's been well ahead on smartphone cameras for a good while.

I have just checked out the prices for those things, ouch does not even come close. I got it for £680 (£729 normally) with my work discount scheme from JL , and then a sim only deal with 15gb of data for £9.50 a month, so not a bad deal for the latest phone

I'm trying to keep my iPhone 6 going but it feels like its days are numbered. I really don't want to have to spend a fortune to get the next iPhone.

to be fair, I don't normally go for the latest phone (I've had a 6s the past 2 years). The main reason I went for the 11 is for the wide angle lens. I was looking at one for my SLR, but you're looking at £400 quid odd. It saved me a few quid doing it this way as I was going to get a new phone anyway

That’s why when I changed from my SE I went for a Samsung A50. The iPhone 8 isn’t much better than the SE but everyone wanted a minimum of £40 a month for it (compared to the £26 I was paying). The A50 is costing £24 and is pretty much on par with an iPhone X and arguably better in some areas. I’ve not managed to get NFC payments to work on it yet which is something I miss but I’m sure I can get it sorted if I could be bothered.

^ Ah , you have an A50 too? How are you finding it? The wide angle camera is pretty good but when mine was less than 2 weeks old it suddenly got very hot when on charge and fried both the SIMs inside. I had to get replacements... I think it tried this again a couple of weeks ago as I had good signal strength but when trying to make a call I got "Not registered on network" messages for both SIMs so turn the phone off to cool down.
After both issues I have taken it into Samsung's service centre in Reading who have tested it and said that it's fine, no errors logged. However I have no faith in the phone, it's the 4th or 5th consecutive Samsung phone I have had and the worst in terms of reliability. I bought it outright on offer so cannot throw it back at a phone company to sort out

I have a Nokia 8 Android and am very happy with it, and a great camera.
I was forced at work, to switch from my trusty windows phone to an apple iPhone8. What a Nasty operating system, no configurability and why do they not have a back button but numerous inferior workarounds? Really don't see what all the hype re apple products is about!!

That's odd. I've used the mains to charge it plenty of times and never had an issue. I mostly charge it in the car though. I'm liking it, the camera is very good as is the screen and it's a lot easier to use than I remember android being (it was 5 years ago that I last used an android phone). The keyboard can be difficult to type on sometimes but maybe I've just got fat fingers. Overheating has never been an issue.

You can configure it to work with podgy digits

I'm teetering on the edge of getting a new phone. Thinking of trying the Oneplus 7T Pro. It comes in a flash looking McLaren version, too, which is a rather fetching black and orange.

Apple's original 68000 chip and the prior 80686 chips were superior to the intel chips in pc's.
Since they moved on to intel chips they are basically no better with the same system fraults that go with it.
Software wise, no idea.
