Is it wrong for a man rapidly approaching 50 to get a red phone? Not at all, many men discover their true sexuality late in life.

Went out with a driver last week and they put me with the winner of last years ‘Driver of the Year’ for that depot. Nothing particularly interesting in that, the interesting part (for me!) was that meant it was in one of the special tractor units. Each depot has one, a high spec Renault. They’re metallic grey rather than white, but it’s the extra kit inside that sets it apart. The seats looked like something out of an old Porsche if you squinted a bit and it has plenty of FG (for a truck), upgraded stereo/speakers, leather steering wheel, heated seats and as you can see from the picture, it even has seat ventilation! Definitely get to drive one if you get the chance. I drove an artic (under very close supervision on a closed private road) at a corporate day many years ago and it was huge fun. Re all the FG, what FG (or not) do the normal trucks have? The guys spend all their time driving, so wouldn't giving them more FG be good for morale and safety?

They’ve all got aircon and voodoo cruise, but most of the options we add are safety related. Eg Sensors and blind spot cameras for cyclists

I drove one at Bruntingthorpe a few years ago. It really was good fun. Spectacularly easy to just drive in a wide open space. I don't doubt for a minute how challenging they might be in day to day traffic and in work!

I'm guessing the brakes are crap because they never seem to be able to stop at junctions or roundabouts...

Anyone any good at forensic accounting? I've just got my company credit card bill in covering my week in Aberdeen at the Oil & Gas show. Damn you, contactless payments! This is going to take some re-constructing.

This is what I call random.
Mrs P goes out to a do, not coming back until tomorrow. I then take the dog out for a walk. On the walk I noticed that someone had dumped a wooden extension ladder. I then get back from the walk and discover I've locked myself out, but notice that the upstairs bathroom window is shut but not locked. I then text a mate to help me borrow the aforementioned ladder (it was very heavy) and then he foots it while I climb in the window and go down to let the dog in!

Handy little escape there, it could have been quite expensive.

And you've gained a ladder, so a win-win.

And you've gained a ladder, so a win-win. Until you descover it was used in a burglary, the police find it at your place and you are arrested on suspicion of breaking and entering other houses in the neighbourhood...

Just stopped off at the local Sainsburys to get a few items of food including the usual apples..... there are no longer any free thin bags to use for loose fruit and veg. You either have to pay 30p for a supposedly re-usable one or else bring your own (or place them loose in your shopping bag). I improvised and used the free paper bag for mushrooms... but why no warning that they were going to do this? I complained at the service desk and the response was "that's a good idea (to have put a notice out in advance); I'll mention it to the store manager"
Aaaaarghhhhhh

Didn't realise they were going to charge 30p for the re-useable bags.

They don't have any of that in the one I use. It's probably too small. Do my eyes deceive me or does that say 3 pints of beer for £14?!

It’s being trialled in two stores at the moment, full trial in Cheltenham and a more limited offer in Oxford Botley Road store.
Yes, it’s £14 with the bottle and £10 for a refill.

Eg Sensors and blind spot cameras for cyclists Even if you gave some cyclists blind spot cameras, radar, audible alarms and any other safety device you may care to imagine they would still get run over by an HGV and insist it was the HGV's fault. You're small and skinny: ride like you're vulnerable not like you're a Transformer robot!

I have never understood the mind set of SOME cyclists, like you say they seem to think that it is enough to blame someone else. Sorry mate but if you is dead you aint blaming anyone and they will definitely blame you regardless of who was actually in the wrong and in any case, being dead and right seems rather bloody moot.

When I wear normal black shoes to work, by normal I mean the type of black shoes people in offices wear, by lunchtime the right one needs retied as its worked loose.
This has only started happening over the last year or so and it doesn't happen with any of my other footwear - trainers, boots, etc.

This has only started happening over the last year or so and it doesn't happen with any of my other footwear - trainers, boots, etc. This happens to me when I spend most of the day walking anti-clockwise. If I do more clockwise it's the left that comes undone. I've started monitoring it so can even it out now.
