You'd need exactly the same recycling facilities in every region for that - otherwise you'd end up transporting a lot of materials up and down the country, negating the benefit. We already transport a lot of them overseas so I doubt it would matter. We can feel nice and smug about recycling waste which the Malaysians happily burn on our behalf on uncontrolled open air bonfires. The Nissan Leaf already has solar panels as did the original late 90’s Audi A8 and RS6 (as an option).

Hyundai's marketing department is clearly superior to those then as they got it into the media as if it was something new.

I'd like to see easily understandable recycling rules right across the UK so that you know exactly where you stand regardless of where you live. My Mum lives in a different council district and the rules that apply to her are totally different to the ones that apply to me. It can't be hard to have one policy for everyone.

That would mean preventing the council 'members' from being total twats which would never do. Likewise when asking about high temp burning of waste to produce power. Our local council referred me to the private company dealing with our bins. A private company making policy, wow, I had no idea our council had completely removed itself from policy making.

In addition though the manufacturers surely need to improve their game so that there's a reasonable level of standardisation about what SHOULD be recyclable. I'm astounded that the grey plastic food trays have to go in the bin whereas black and clear ones don't. Are the grey trays special in some way?

On my way to one of our suppliers this morning in my Fiesta. Stopped at red lights on a roundabout behind another Fiesta. I look right.... another Fiesta in that lane. I glance left.... another Fiesta in that lane too. 4 of us waiting at the lights, all in Fiestas....

What's up with the BBC website today? Full of anti Brexit propaganda like every other day? It is reaching fever pitch isn't it? It's like the Y2K disaster all over again when after 31/12/99 all the planes fell out of the sky, life support systems stopped working, fuel stopped dispensing from pumps, food shortages, riots and the general breakdown of society that occurred.

Full of anti Brexit propaganda like every other day? It is reaching fever pitch isn't it? ... About the only thing not mentioned so far is what we are going to do with all the bodies that will result from all this chaos. We'll probably have to pile them up in the streets for 6 months as all funeral homes and crematoria will have to close down.

We'll probably have to pile them up in the streets for 6 months as all funeral homes and crematoria will have to close down. Is this due to the lack of some essential embalming ingredient that can only be imported from Europe and administered by largely Eastern European staff?

^ It would more likely be down to a shortage of electricity as we won't be able to import charged electrons from France any more after Brexit.....

Back to normality; I had my first ever eye test today, aged exactly 51.5. The optician I went to had a buy one get one half price offer on but I couldn't go for it because I wanted an ant glare distance pair for driving at night and another for the arms too short syndrome and they had to be the same 'script'. Result: £440!
Should've gone to Specsavers...

The two local Asdas don't have opticians in them. I thought I was doing the local firm a small favour but it turned out to be a big one.

Following in from the S6/S7, more awful exhaust fakery from Audi. This is the new diesel S4 and it’s even worse.

Exhausts aside, there really should NOT be a diesel engine in anything badged S/RS and wearing four rings. IMHO. It's just . . . wrong.

BMW do that too. I'm sure I've seen them with blanked off tailpipes.
