I had a coffee with my breakfast, but will be making up for it by drinking several pints of Guinness in the City Centre this evening. And how did that work out this morning?

All good! I'm usually hangover free when I just stick to Guinness, I had quite a few last night, but felt fine this morning.

Wondered (again) this morning why the type of person who throws plastic bottles away almost invariably screw the tops back on first!

A lot of people who litter are surprisingly conscientious about the risk of small animals being trapped inside their discarded plastic bottle having been tempted by the sweet aroma of the dregs of their Coca Cola.

A lot of people who litter are surprisingly conscientious about the risk of small animals being trapped inside their discarded plastic bottle having been tempted by the sweet aroma of the dregs of their Coca Cola. I'd love to think that was the case; it possibly is for some people. Sadly, I think it's more to do with the "muscle memory" of screwing the top on while using it, so it becomes a second-nature thing despite it's imminent launching into the undergrowth. Or pavement, bush, field etc etc

I do not get that degree of lowering, how many roads can they be driven on? The ride would seem to be on the rock side of form too.

If they've done the same at the front, then cornering must be interesting.....

Yep, air suspension. Lowers for when it's static. Raises to drive. God knows what they ride like, though.

Just noticed that Garlic can be on of your 5 a day, however you'd need 80g worth which is approx 2 bulbs, I guess at least vampires will steer clear, friends too!

Had an e-mail from sister-in-law on west cosat of USA a couple of days ago; her son works in a leisure resort in Colorado along with his partner; Clarkson, Hammond and May stayed there with the Grand Tour crew for 3 days/nights recently as they were filming something in the area (loads of mountains and canyons). There is a small car museum at the resort and James May went round it (sounds like this was unfilmed, in his own time) and cousin's partner got to talk to him for a while.

I noticed that the fundraising messages had disappeared last week but I'd stopped going to the old place as there's really no reason to visit it any more (sadly). Still, progress over here is excellent and I think we did the right thing by moving

I've just bought a dash cam. I've been putting it off, but I have had one too many near misses due to dickheads cutting corners or doing other stupid things on the country roads around here. It's a DDPai M6 plus. I'll see how good it is in the Land Rover before I go and order another mount and power supply for the TVR.

It's something I've been thinking of for a while too, especially since a friend had an altercation with the tail swing of a Lothian Buses double decker and the dashcam footage saved his no claims bonus!
How much was the one you bought?

I filled up earlier and I thought:
- Why do all fuel companies call diesel 'diesel' but petrol 'unleaded'? Leaded fuel went off sale in the early 1990's so it's surely been a reasonable time to have reverted to just calling it 'petrol'.

Another ponder, based on your car name, why did eco weenie cars go from being green to blue?

Another ponder, based on your car name, why did eco weenie cars go from being green to blue? It may be brand specific. In the VAG group VW have a blue theme to their badge whereas Skoda have a green theme and hence their eco models are Greenline. It could be linked to the adblue but then that could have been called adblue because so many eco cars have blue in their name - it's a chicken and egg situation. Or it could just be a blue liquid!

The explanation I read was to do with not wanting to look like they were endorsing the Green Party in Germany.
No idea why Hyundai chose blue drive for their green stuff.

Mercedes have a blue something, too, don't they? And Nissan. And the Renault Zoe has blue bits on it.

Toyota do blue too.
My son is in the scouts and we went to his pack gathering tonight- they had a guy from the energy company who was telling them about the dangers of electricity. He was a caricature of everyone who does these things and I'm not sure if it was on purpose or not. Every story ended "got electrocuted and died!"
There was a mother there and she was in tears laughing at him. I couldn't look at her for fear I started too...
