Barry managed to grab a squirrel on our Sunday walk, I think it must have been injured as I doubt it would have let a dog get anywhere near it, I wanted to kill it as it was clearly injured but Tina wouldn't let me.
And then on Tuesday, he managed to grab a perfectly healthy wild rabbit, the little shit just wouldn't let it go, it froze, I managed to tie Barry to a fence post and popped the poor, shit scared rabbit over a fence.

So you murdered a squirrel? No. He put it out of our misery! The missus did the murder. She wouldn't let me keep it in the house in case it escaped, so I put it out in the garage. I assume it froze to death, although rodents will usually go into hibernation mode if they get cold...

I find this quite hilarious..... I'm in France for a few days and have bought a cheap netbook from a local supermarket... Windows 10 but French (obviously) with an AZERTY keyboard. When you change the language to English (English) and the keyboard to English, you get a real Franglais mess of instructions, names of programs etc etc and the keyboard is totally screwed, I cannot key at "at" sign (@) no matter what I do, so I have had to reset it to French... still struggling to get it to go online using the hotel wifi as you have to register each device first !

Just come across this on Google Quora, whatever that may be.... it's about being let off after a traffic stop by plod in the USA.....
Context is key, so you need to know that this friend, named Bob, was an airline pilot who held an ATP (Airline Transport Pilot license). He also was a semi-professional drag racer who held an NHRA license. And, of course, a regular state driver's license.
Bob got pulled over for speeding and a nice gentleman of an officer—who was clearly close to retirement age—walked up to the window and said, "You were going pretty fast back there. I need to see your driver's license, your race driver license, and your jet pilot license."
Bob was horrified that the cop had all that info on him. He worried about consequences to his professional and semi-professional careers. He dug through his wallet and finally said to the cop, "Well, here's my jet pilot license. Here's my race driver license. And here's my driver's license."
The cop stared at all three for a bit then started laughing. "I've been pulling people over for decades and, to break the tension, I always ask them for their jet pilot license, race driver license, and driver's license. When they can only pull out a driver's license, I then say, 'Well, that's too bad, because to drive that fast you need all three of those licenses, so I'm going to have to give you a ticket. If you had all three I could let you go.'"
"I can’t use that line on you because you're the first person who has ever had all three. So to be true to myself I'm going to let you go."

Good Xmas deed done this morning at Sainsburys check out. I was behind a really old lady in the queue. Her bill came to £32 but when she counted out all her money she only had £20 and was upset that she must have lost £20 in the shop somewhere. She reminded me of my late grandma and I felt sorry for her. She didn’t want me to help her but I insisted, and in no time we had all her shopping back on the shelves.

One of the lads in Document Control has had a parcel delivered, a rucksack he's been waiting for that he bought off Ebay. It looks good, ideal for what he wants and came with a free bag of dog shit and a tampon in the outer pockets.

Oh how true that is - one of the reasons I don't turn my phone on until I am leaving the house and it goes off before I go to bed!

Spent a few hours in our local A&E today. Fell on black ice when walking the dogs yesterday morning and gashed my hand. It bled quite copiously, plus I gave it a good scrub when I got home - not well enough apparently. No stitches or steristrips, just (another) dressing, iodine this time, and double-dose heavy duty antibiotics to counter the good-going infection that has taken less than 28 hours to get a good hold! I was offered by 2 or 3 colleagues yesterday to re-clean and re-dress it, but I was so busy finishing up for 12 days off I declined. Ah well, lesson learned - maybe!

Fabulous sunset over the Tyne this afternoon. A friend of mine posted this picture on Facebook yesterday. Taken from a train it appears to be the same time further up river.

if we are on the subject of sunsets, I took this a few days ago when out with the dogs (I've not altered or played around with it all all):

Saw an amazing sunrise on the way home from work the other day, but there wasn't anywhere to pull the car in.

Had a wonderful round of golf at Sharpley Springs on Boxing Day; full greens and no teeing up or mats. Course was in great nick.

No chance of that at my course. I need to go down the coast to Ayrshire to play on grass tees and full greens. I don't get any golf in January at all because of my 7 day a week working but it makes the first round in February all the sweeter.
