We’ve got some new neighbours at work, REVO. So the view from my office window is now a selection of modified VAG group cars.....there’s a current shape RS6, recent RS4, a Leon and a couple of Golfs out front at the moment.

Interesting looking at Revo's website. They can map the last V8 RS4 for a little more power than the B7 (and it is only a little), but make a far smaller difference to the torque, where the old stager is more 'ample'.
EDIT: DMS's figures are more interesting though, so I wonder if Revo's is a mistake. DMS end up with a slightly higher torque figure for the B8, and 488 bhp. I am officially jealous.

As I sit here with 'Live at the Apollo' (Lenny Henry - what happened to you man?!?!) on the tellybox, I have two eejit dogs lying snoring loudly to my left! Farting quite loudly too, just to make my misery complete.

She still needs an op, but it's benign and the intervention will be 'minor', insofar as these things go!

RIP desktop computer... last night, at 8 1/2 years old my faithful home PC that started its life on Vista Home Premium finally bit the dust.... failed to boot up. It had been running slower and slower the past few months; I had bought a new one to replace it a few months ago and was just about ready to swap over with all files ready for transfer (or so I though) but last night forced the issue. Vista had been upgraded to Windows7 then 10; the new PC has a small SSD hard drive for the operating system and a reasonable normal HDD too; the difference in speed is amazing; web pages now load almost instantly, and I don't have to wait 7 to 10 minutes after turning it on before I can launch a program !
Just got to sort out automatic back-ups and "I'm done"

Glad to hear the SSD is making such a difference. I've just had to buy a new PC as the work one is about to go back. I went for an HP Pavillion i7 chip laptop in the end and I'm looking forward to having an SSD plus an HDD. It should arrive in the next few days.

Everything happens instantly on the click of the mouse.

Mine is some sort of HP Pavilion with an AMD quad core processor, 8GB of memory too, so that hopefully I can edit my photos without the system grinding to a halt for ages as my old PC (also an HP) used to do

Clocks have gone back, I'm wide awake, everyone else fast asleep! Up at the normal time, with an hour to spare, has made for a very leisurely breakfast. I don't get many lazy Sunday mornings so I'm going to enjoy it.

Clocks have gone back, I'm wide awake, everyone else fast asleep! I think it must take me more than the extra hour gained to adjust all the clocks and watches in the house - not forgetting the clocks in the cameras......

Wish they used the same clock in the A3. I have to manually set it twice a year!

I must admit that I don't understand why - it's the same with ours. If the boiler and my remote controls can work it out, my car should be able to...

My car automatically corrected to the right time. As did my 12 cuckoo clocks, 2 grandfather clocks, 4 bedside alarms, double oven, microwave and mickey mouse wrist watch.

All I have to change the oven and microwave, however I haven't a clue how to change the microwave so it's only correct 6m of the year.

My car has a very confusing menu item that says something like 'manual summertime clock adjustment' and a tick box. You'd assume that no tick means it will automatically change, but the only way to make the clock change is to tick the box and then untick it again. Leaving the box ticked has the same result as leaving it unticked i.e. no BST change.
Anyhow, now for the actual reason for my visit to this thread; I've just been bitten by a squirrel I was attempting to help. Fuck me, those things have a nip on them! I could feel its top and bottom teeth meeting inside my flesh!!

Leave the little bugger to his own devices, there's for too many more where it came from thank you very much.

It's in a box in the garage. I'll put it back where I found it in the morning if it hasn't snuffed it by then.

You'll be glad to hear it was brown bread this morning. I returned it to nature by throwing it into a nearby hedge.
