That looks superb. I was in Stratstone Tyneside yesterday and they had an M4 in exactly the same colour and interior. I was so tempted to start ringing round organ donation facilities to see if I could get an advance against mine.

I'm sure there are some very attractive, non organ threatening deals available on an M4 at the moment.

That is a nice shade of blue. Glad that you have washed it already too ! I spent 3 hours yesterday afternoon washing "the fleet" and part=polishing the Fiesta. Remind me not to buy Simoniz polish again...... EDIT:What's with the random names on this forum, I've noticed this before:

Does look great! What does Mrs John think? She still thinks it is OTT but is happy if I am happy. However she did say last night that she might now need to put soft close doors on her list of must haves...and she is rather partial to the massaging seats!

We're getting a new puppy in a few weeks so I'm being very sensible and looking at 320d auto Tourings. I think I've worked out that one of those plus the monthly cost of running a dog = an M4 monthly payment.

I knew you’d like both of those features fairly early on, definitely in the FG category, but something you appreciate every day.

Looks great ,what blue is that ? Looks similar to the blue I had on the e39 It's Marina Bay Blue which I believe is a new colour for the M5. It is very similar to San Marino Blue which the M4 and M6 came in. To be honest it is so similar, I can't tell the difference but it is a colour that makes a statement and gets noticed - time will tell if that is a positive or negative.

Loving the colour, loving the seats, loving the full leather and is that wood? if so loving that too. Less said about the dodgy mood lighting the better but I guess you can switch it off or change to a more subtle shade?
Very nice

I've had both on back to back long term rentals and the 330d is nice but I found, after a week or so of booting it, that I settled down into my normal driving pattern where the extra power wasn't really required. For 95% of my driving the 320d has all the power I need and gets the better MPG. Plus, I'm looking for nearly new Shadowline Editions and there are far more 320s at very competitive prices knocking around. A new one is £41k, whereas a 6-9 month old one with less than 9k on the clock is £24-25k.

Although I note that Broadspeed suggests a £9k+ discount is available on a new one, making it nearer £31k, plus the better PCP rate on new vs used (although I note it seems to be back to 4.9% whereas it was 1.9% at one point on 3/4s).
That's an annoying price-point tax-wise. Would the non-Shadow Line version sneak more easily under £40k and thus avoid the tax surcharge?

Less said about the dodgy mood lighting the better but I guess you can switch it off or change to a more subtle shade? Very nice It looks like Individual Piano Black Wood? I’ve got it in mine and it’s stunning, but scratches and gets swirls so easily so I’m not sure I’d choose it (£620 on a 7). With mine not being brand new it had been cleaned by the dealer so I had to buy some dark, swirl filling polish and carefully apply it to get it back to its best. Double blue is a bold interior lighting choice, I’ve got mine set with white on the top and orange on the bottom which fits in perfectly with the rest of the lighting inside. Might not be so good with white seats? A colleague has double green, which is just awful.

It is the gloss black which is a huge improvement from the two fake naked carbon finishes they do that just feel like cheap plastic. I have a coating to apply to the black to help stop it being scratched.
I left the lighting choice to wife and daughter and haven't even found that part of the menu options!

Very nice - inside and out. Much more subtle and less yobby than the M3/4. May you have many happy miles together.

Press the voice control button and say “interior lighting”, takes you straight there. Not a command you’ll use every day, but two I use a fair bit are “head up display” as it’s good to change the brightness when it’s dark or particularly sunny and “tyre pressures”. I use the voice control a lot as it works really well, most of the time it’s to set destinations and make calls but it does get you to settings quickly without having to remember where they are in the sub menus.

That looks good for the money, main downside is the basic Nav, it’s a lot better (functionality) than Business Mav used to be but the small screen with the large plastic border would annoy me a bit.

I had a one with the bigger nav screen last year and I noticed it for the first week or so but when my next one went back to the smaller screen I had it for a month before I realised. Unless you're going to split the screen it's not something I'd worry about. The only reason I'm looking to buy is because for the last 3 years I've been running around in various 3 series autos and being charged by the hire company for a Ford Focus. I knew they'd realise their mistake eventually, albeit I didn't think they'd take this long. They have now and I'm not prepared to pay the extra.
