A lot of want for this, no surprise as I’d love a 991, which isn’t all that different. Stance looks great with the rear wheels larger than the fronts 992

It's such a radical departure from the past I nearly didn't recognise it!

They've made it even wider, I see. Probably something virtually no one wanted. "I haff und great idea. Let us make it even harder to parken"

Don't like the grille and whiskers. I realise that woefully unadventurous has always been the order of the day for successive 911s, but it does little for me.

Predictable but you know its going to be successful.
All the non-German manufacturers should really take note of the slow (glacial?) evolution option for styling as opposed to the complete redesign that so many others follow, e.g. Honda Civic looks significantly different whenever a new one appears.

I've always liked 911's and I like this one too. I prefer to think of the design evolution as a process off refinement rather than reinvention. That said, I don't care much for the different diameter wheels. Chrysler did that with the Crossfire and it seemed gimmicky on that, too.

What the hell is that gearlever all about? Looks like a matchbox poking out of the centre console. Surely with the move to flappy paddles and electronically controlled full autos, the days of the lever are numbered? Shove a button or a dial in there, not something that resembles a robot's buttplug.
Also not a fan of the full width rear light. I'm seeing that a lot nowadays, just makes me think of terrible 1980s American shit heaps.
Other than that: business as usual. But I doubt I'll hanker after one like a do a 964 Carrera 4 or a 993.

I like the 718 Cayman myself but the 992 is not exactly bad just understated compared with some. Better than a lot of the McLaren offerings anyway.

I really don't like Porsche's new headlight design with those four square LEDs arranged in a box shape.

That's irritated me since I first saw them, why do that when the headlight shape is round?

Very nice though not a cheap car. I priced one at £109k last night for a C2S to my not crazy spec.
Odd how the 911 always gets grief for not being revolutionary but wtf do people expect. They tried replacing the 911 with the 928 and although it was a rather lovely looking thing the sales never matched that of the 911. They don't give the Golf or three series the same grief

I've been on the configurator and got a C4S to £122k (£116k in C2S flavour), that's more than my spec of 991.2 GTS. Standard spec isn't bad, but they've moved the Alcantara headlining to the options list.
Having looked at it in more detail, the only things I don't like are the gear selector and high level brake light.

Whatever the flavour of 911, I am a fan. I think the slightly bigger body is an improvement and I love the blue colour of the one Martin posted.

Yes, that spec (wheels/colour/exhaust) would be my choice. Probably black leather with crayon contrast stitching, especially now that/s not at extra cost. It is available in Racing spec (if we can still call it that after successive black cars!), green paint with brown leather and wood trim. I'd definitely pass on the Agave Green Club leather interior..... You can also have the standard S wheels in aurum (gold) for the GT3 look.

I love it. Those wheels in the picture that Martin posted are gorgeous, lovely silver round tail pipes, manual gearbox coming – yes!
The 991 is one of my favourite modern designs. I’m eager to see the 992 in the flesh, but I would be surprised if I preferred the 992. The rear of the 991 is just perfect to me.
A neighbour has a Carrera T, and it sounds fabulous. Sure, it’s blown, but it makes that typical flat six howl which would satisfy me completely. I think a Carrera T could be my perfect real-world dream car.

I like the sound of this Wet mode that detects water on the road an alerts the driver; many is the time I'm driving along not noticing the road is wet and come a cropper.

Can't see any difference between the two pictures above. What I can see is the 991 is better looking than the 992. And the reg is incorrect on the reflection.

That looks like a dog's dinner. After said dinner has passed through said dog and seen the light of day again.
