Outdoors, I assume?
I used to get back in my car after karting and make a conscious effort to slow down, after a couple of lairy moments on Milton Keynes roundabouts when my brain was still wired for the track.
Even a Fiesta ST felt like a limo after a kart race. Especially when the race in question was the British 24 Hours.
Woefully short on seat time lately, but I'll be back in a kart outdoors for the first time since August 2016 this weekend.

Kimi often frustrates me, particularly when he seems to go missing in races. But I thought he was good last weekend. Granted it didn't come off, but he had a good go at taking the lead on lap 1, and managed to rejoin without clouting anyone or losing his position. And he also did bloody well to hang on to the car when Verstappen tagged him. With hindsight, Ferrari were too cautious with tyre management in the middle of the race (as Kimi said himself) - given free rein to push sooner, he had the pace to win.
It seems highly likely that he's going to be replaced, and I hope he wins at least once more then.

Or go racing instead.

ultimately, Williams needs a driver who can offer guidance as to where to develop, set-up direction being one area... They've got one.

I will try and play this year.
Despite the headline testing times, the consensus seems to be that Merc are ahead by quite a margin, as much as half a second. So the battle will be between Ferrari and Red Bull, and the midfield which has had a major shake-up. I reckon the most anxious team in the paddock is Williams - saddled with what looks like a tricky new car and the weakest race driver lineup in the field.
I hear that Liberty are trying to engineer some sort of deal with Sky to make their new streaming service available in the UK in 2019. I hope that comes off. I'd pay £10 a month to subscribe to a dedicated F1 service, but Sky F1 only comes as part of a bundle which costs a minimum of £40 per month - a massive own goal.
I also hope that Liberty and the FIA grow some balls, and invite all the teams to compete on a level playing field. Time somebody stood up to Ferrari in particular, it's absolute lunacy that any competitor has the power to manipulate the rules. I couldn't care less if they left F1 personally, I've never liked the way they go racing and their arrogance is breathtaking. Interesting to see quite a groundswell of similar sentiment on social media, along the lines of 'don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out...'.

I'm still not sure about the rear, but a nice-looking car. The centre console would be a lot cleaner than mine if it wasn't for that bloody huge screen. Do they all have that?
Good to see that Ford have finally seen fit to introduce a 5 door ST in the UK. Mine is a perfectly useable family car, but the lack of rear doors is occasionally a pain.

Ocon was streets ahead in both qualifying and the race. Not so. He beat Perez into Q3 by 2 thousandths of a second, did a solid job in Q3 (though still 7 tenths behind Stroll!!) and then gradually regressed to the car's natural level during the race. Perez finished less than 4 seconds behind him from 10th on the grid after the penalty merry-go-round. Both did well, but as usual there was nothing in it.

Kubica did more than 2 GP distances (142 laps) and got within a tenth of Palmer's Q2 time. Only he and the team will know how representative that was - he was on ultrasoft tyres (Palmer on supersofts) but likely carrying more fuel. He also eclipsed the team's fastest race lap within the first 2 hours - on comparable tyres and likely carrying a decent amount of fuel - and did some seriously impressive race runs later on. All of this in 35 degree heat.

I think Kubica has had far too long away from the arena to jump back in and be race-ready. On the basis of yesterday's test I think he's pretty close.

Vettel's not a red-misted loon on a karting stag do. He's a professional racing driver. He's paid squillions to keep his head in the heat of competition. I've read lots of comments along the lines of 'Senna got away with ramming Prost off the road at 150mph, so why shouldn't Vettel get away with a 30mph wheel-to-wheel kiss?' Which is idiotic. Obviously what Senna did was inexcusable and should have been heavily penalised at the time.
You don't deliberately ram a competitor, period. I wish the stewards at Baku had shown some cojones and black-flagged him.

They really need a faster safety car. Something like a Mclaren 720s or Ferrari 488 would do. Or even a GT3 car.

My impression at the time was that Vettel red-misted and banged wheels with Hamilton accidentally while gesticulating. Which is juvenile and petulant and unacceptable for a top sportsman. If it was deliberate then he's brought the sport into disrepute and needs stomping on, hard.
I don't see that Hamilton did anything wrong. The data showed no attempt to brake test Vettel, and why on earth would he risk damage anyway?
Also - fair play Lance Stroll. Kept his head when most around him were losing theirs.

I would love to see him back, and Renault is the obvious choice. The gap between Hulkenberg and Palmer is frankly embarrassing, and the team won't stand for it much longer. He's had a season and a half to get to grips with F1.

Flawless lap, perfect conditions and virtually no traffic. Mega.
The top 10 in GTE Pro covered by 1.2 seconds on a near 4 minute lap was impressive, too.

Perhaps we should start a thread now in anticipation of another trip to the polls?
Anyone got a prediction on a date?
October is a first suggestion from one of my colleagues. Within minutes of the exit poll result last night, the pundits on one of the election shows (C4 I think) were saying that a) another GE was inevitable and b) it would happen by autumn.

It ends badly whatever you do. But it's the LibDems for me because I cannot possibly vote for Corbyn or May - either would represent an egregious betrayal of what I believe in. Call it conscientious objection. +1

It was a shame to see Kimi lose the lead, but I'm not convinced it was engineered - he simply wasn't as quick as Vettel either side of the pitstops, and hadn't pulled enough of a gap beforehand to give himself a margin.
JB did bloody well to make Q3 on Saturday. I wish they'd come up with a better solution to the grid penalty system though. While he hardly covered himself in glory by launching Princess Pascal headfirst into the barrier, he shouldn't have been back there in the first place.

A dull race with a great result. I'm a Bottas fan and a Hamilton loather, but credit to him for owning up to his failings rather than blaming the team.
I think the pinkest team in F1 is also the highest achieving - Force India are doing an incredible job with a flawed car.
Lance Stroll and (especially) Jolyon Palmer need to start producing results very soon.
