Yep agree; Android Auto and Apple Car Play are now filtering into Renault's.
I had a play about with Android Auto in the "New-Koleos" and came away with a bit of a "meh" feeling, I suppose Google maps is better than the standard mapping, however the standard maps are Ok and suit me fine, Spotify wouldn't work but it worked fine through my phone and watch and texts come up fine without Android Auto.
My colleague had a play with his iPhone on Car Play and had a similar view to me.
It is actually a pain in the arse that your phone has to be connected via a lead, anyone know why?

MG 13 UGH. Helpfully it had 'McHugh' noted at the bottom of the plate. Only one thing worse than a git plate; a git plate which needs an explanation at the bottom!

All that damage and he was initially going only 30 mph; he must have scrubbed half of that speed off by taking all that avoiding action by swerving to miss parked cars, oh and the cat, so by the time he would have hit the wall he was probably only going at about 15 mph tops.
Now I don't want to call him a liar but there is a distinct air of billshit about his description of events!

Well obviously he's not good looking to me. But girls see something in him. So what is it that you see in multi millionaire and global superstar, Ed Sheeran?! Tbh he has a very chilled, down to earth and likeable air about him. A friend of my eldest breeds cats, some specific breed, she had a phone call from a guy wanting to come and see a pair of kittens that he heard she had for sale. The man arrived with his girlfriend, knocked on the door, which was opened by the breeders husband, the first thing the husband said to him was "you look like Ed Sheeran", his reply was "that's because I am Ed Sheeran" It was him (I've seen the photo's), he stayed for a hour and a half, signed the husbands guitar and by all accounts was lovely, normal and very unassuming.

Yeah, but F1 has a history of letting drivers get away with it when they drive into another car... Off the top of my head: Senna and Nannini, Salazar (?) and Piquet, Schlesser and Senna, Prost and Senna, Schumacher and Coulthard, Schumacher and Villeneuve (penalty applied late when it didn't affect the result of the championship)
Salazar is correct. You've missed out Mansell & Senna plus Senna and Eddie Irvine.
Maldanado did it at Spa, cut acroos someone and took part of their wing off, IIRC, he got off lightly too.

The stewards have looked at the data and Hamilton didn't brake test Vettel. Whatever happened, there's no excuse for deliberately driving into another car and why is Vettel denying it happened? Anyway, all that aside, mad race but it mixed things up nicely. I was surprised at how well Stroll did all weekend, but good on him. Yep not brake checked at all, before the stewards became involved there was a replay and David Coulthard stated the the revs remained constant throughout, Lewis controls the front and did nothing wrong, Vettel was just caught out. Vettel should have been black flagged for that, you don't deliberately drive into an opponent because you are angry, his RB petulance days are starting to shine through again.

It's interesting you say that, a friend of ours had a 500 on a PCP that she was in negative equity on but needed to replace with a slightly larger car (with 5 seats), the only option under £200pcm with a reasonable spec and capable engine was a Polo - not a car I'd have thought she would go for (she had a Clio before the 500 and a 206 before that), the Polo is a 1.2TSi bluemotion in something like SE or Match spec and she is utterly delighted. I think it's the VW depreciation that made the difference to the monthly figure. I've found that many people looking at VW are a strange bunch, it's almost as if they are just looking elsewhere to convince themselves that the VW is the correct choice, as opposed to being open about what else is out there, if you know what I'm getting at. I had a mum and daughter in last year, they were looking at the Twingo, they had already looked at the Up! and Mii, they didn't like the Mii as the interior was too small, however they loved the Up!, I knew then that I had no chance. Before they had told me that they didn't like the Mii, I said something along the lines of "oh both the Mii and Up! are essentially the same car", the mums reply was "oh yes I know that but the Mii interior is smaller than the Up!'s"

There has been a definite switch to 5dr in all but the sporty stuff. Peugeot have dropped the 208 3dr in all models apart from a special edition with the entry level engines and the GTi versions, the only market for 3dr 'normal' cars is the UK really. I like that Polo, I wouldn't buy one but they know their market. Yep, Clio became 5dr only as it was only the UK who bought 3dr Clio, apparently dropping the 3dr pretty much paid for the Captur development. The Polo is not my thing; VW in general isn't my thing but they have their core customers and it will sell well. If we get anyone in looking at the Clio and one of the other competitors they are looking at is the Polo, they almost always buy the Polo, even if they are also looking at a Fiesta or 208 aswell, if the Polo is on the list then we have no chance, if it isn't on their list then we have a chance.

This weather; the dogs are massively struggling, they haven't had a walk for three days, they are exhausted with the heat but also getting a tad stressed with no walks, they have access to the garden and fortunately we have a large one with shade and a paddling pool for them if they so wish but they aren't going outside as it's too hot, a particular eye needs to be kept on Daphne as she is not yet 6m old and still a puppy and Daisy as she is a French Bulldog; this heat can kill French Bulldogs very quickly if they spend too long outside.

I think I met a racist today. Fixed you post. That is where you are wrong Michael; there was a discussion on LBC a few weeks ago about racism and one of the contributors from some group (can't remember the name) said that only white people are racist, black people aren't racist, she was being serious too.

Talbot Sunbeam yesterday; sunny and roof down, nothing particularly exciting about spotting a Sunbeam, however in the car were three girls that I would say were early 20's.
As the guy who was demo-ing the Kadjar which was following them, said; "usually those sort of cars are driven by older men", it was nice to see a car of that vintage being driven and enjoyed by young people, when normally they would be in an air conditioned, modern car with PAS, ABS etc.

I think I may have been labelled a racist today.
We have been up in London today at the Taste of London event at Regents Park, on the tube on the way back to South Wimbledon I'm doing my usual people watching and taking in all the diverse people who live and work in our great capital.
I notice a black guy opposite, stood up in the doorway entrance, halfway up the carriage probably in his 60's, he has dreadlocks and a pipe (unlit) and just has a relaxed and kind of cool air about him, he is with a woman maybe in her 50's, she has dreadlocks, and has a hippy air about her with a long flowing dress, she is white.
Anyway after a while I notice him move and sit with his partner (6 seats up) and overhear him whispering something to her about "all these white people" and he's pointing in my direction, at this point he's also taken off his shades and is making it obvious he is looking at me.
I might add that I have spent alot more time looking at the Hipster sat next this guys partner, dressed in the usual Hipster way; braces, bow tie, sporting a big beard, etc.
I start to feel a bit uncomfortable so I avert my gaze to watching people at the other end of the carriage, a couple of times my look wanders back over in this guys direction and each time he is looking at me with his shades still off, so I eventually decide to dig out the cook book I bought and have a flick through it.
This guys stop arrives and instead of going out of the door to his immediate left; which is the door his partner exited, he leaves in a slower fashion and clearly goes out of his way to walk past me, (I'm still reading the cook book but I can see out of the corner of my eye, what he's doing and I kind of expected him to do something, given his "white people" rant at his partner), as he gets to me he says "thanks for fucking up my day, you cunt", I didn't say anything and he exits the train.
All very odd and clearly someone with a massive chip on his shoulder.

I remember when I worked at MINI, the day I started I was taken to a huge house to pick up a MINI that we had just bought.
Apparently a few weeks prior, a guy in an Overfinch Range Rover rocked up, said he had bought his wife the RR but she couldn't get on with it and she now wanted a MINI as it would be easier to drive and park, she told him what she wanted so he went out to get it and we had it in stock, he took it home to her a few days later where she declared she hated it.
She never used it and decided the RR wasn't so bad, we bought the MINI back from him two weeks later.

Labour were very good in targeting the youth vote; which I believe had a very good turnout, they used social media well, they had a fair few cool and trendy famous people on board who appeal to younger people, they appealed to them with regards to free university education, to the youth the Conservatives are fuddy duddy and out of touch with young people.

And non illuminated cruise control buttons.
I can give you a worse one that that - the knob for the lights on the Vauxhall Meriva (the suicide door one) is down by your right knee and is not illuminated so when you get drive your parents example infrequently and at night there's an extended period of confusion followed by some unsatisfactory fumbling around just to get the lights on.
I don't really get the issue with non-illuminated cruise control buttons, they fall easily to your thumbs; up is faster and down is slower and it's not as if there are loads of other buttons on the wheel to get confused with.

That's fair enough but it comes across that Renault have been very slow to react to the criticisms - the 200's slow gearbox was mentioned from day 1. They could've surely also offered a Cup version with the option of a manual gearbox? I remember the training on the car and everyone brought up the slow gear change, the trainers explained that the actual gearchange was very quick, it was the software that told the gears to change from the pull of the paddle, which was the issue and slowing things down and a fix was already in hand, however it never materialised until the trophy was launched 2 odd years later. I guess as the Clio 200 was engineered as an auto from the outset due to Renault's belief that an auto was the way forward, then a manual never figured; why would it as Renault belived auto was the future, they must have got this belief from extensive research, potentially they made a mistake and I would imagine the fact that Megane is going to be offered with an auto and a manual, reinforces that it was an oversite. Obviously to then offer a manual on the 200/220 at a later date would cost too much to develop.

I like the C3 and the Cactus, I will admit that I have never had the opportunity to see either up close, but they both look fantastic.
As for the the R19 remote radio controls on a Captur; they work and work well, I don't really see the issue, but there are other cost cutting areas such as the crappy cubby on the top of the dash and hard plastics.
I saw the new Captur yesterday and quality has been improved.

The Trophy also has 50% quicker gear shifts.
I haven't driven a Trophy, however I have driven the 200; in anger too.
The most dissapointing thing with the 200 was the slow gear shifts, you could almost count to 2, between a pull of the paddle and the gear changing, it was crap.
The Clio Sport has lost some of its rawness when compared to previous incarnations, however if you listen to Renault, this has been done on purpose to appeal to a broader range of purchasers and no matter what some people say, it has achieved greater sales when compared to earlier models, however it then alienates hard core Renaultsport customers; you can't please everyone.
I think Renault have realised their mistake with only offering the Clio as an auto as the new Megane Sport is to be a manual with an auto as an option but I wouldn't be surprised of the take up of autos will be greater than manual.
I'm in two minds about the whole auto vs manual debate on a "hot hatch", all supercars are of an auto nature now and have been for some time, as are performance saloons and many hot hatches (RS3, Golf R, for example) and no one complains, why does the hot hatch get such a raw deal, this is the future.
