Just watched the video, assignability aside, this is very similar to the f-type controls but with added complication.
The outer dials set the temp, push once for seat heating, push again for cooling. In the f-type, you push once and turn left for cooling and right for heating.
Works well, looks great….job done.

Purely in the interests of market research, I valued my two cars.....
The derisory numbers quoted when compared with the current advertised prices suggest that retailers are rammed with stock that they have likely paid big numbers for.
It will be interesting to see who blinks first, but I can't tell if this is a slow down (i.e - prices will more or less hold, as long as you accept longer stock days) or pre-emptive of a big correction.

I personally cannot vote for change for the sake of change (or knocking the Conservatives out of their complacency) if the alternative presents the level of risk it currently appears to.
I would say the level of debt and required future spend means that taxation will remain high for a good deal longer and every future Government will have to deal with this unless they make the big bold decisions (that we all know they won't). Elements of the left will still look to go " wild in the aisle " in spite of this - so tax will likely go up and nothing will get any better.
Even if Labour were to get kicked out after 5 years of hardcore leftery - the damage will have been done (as Pete says - the chances of rowing back on half the daft stuff they could do would be highly unlikely).
Oh - and don't believe any BS about holding referendums or consultations regarding key decisions. Drakeford, Kahn, numerous councils all completely ignored the feedback received and ploughed ahead regardless.

I've seen quite a few people now saying how much they fear a Labour Government. I can understand that to a degree but what do they imagine would happen if the Tories actually own next year? I would expect Sunak to get the bullet within hours of the win and on the current basis we'd end up with a reappearance of Truss or Braverman or someone similar. Possibly Farage might be in the running! I consider that prospect a lot worse than Labour under Starmer. It's not a Labour government - it's a Starmer/Rayner government. Labour couldn’t give a stuff about working people or the common (wo)man - it’s going to be full speed net zero and screw the cost/convenience/quality impact. For subjects closer to our hearts, I wouldn’t be surprised if the 20 mph nonsense in Wales gets extended across the country – all of the anti car, anti speed, uber green lunatic fringe infest the left. I am by no means a fan of the current shower of shite in charge, but I have a better understanding of where their limits are vs the opposition. Team Sunak don’t have any credible plans to fix the problems du jour – but nothing Starmer has said makes me think they do either. So I think the choice is this: • Mediocrity with a slight chance of improvement • Mediocrity with even higher taxes, more state intervention, more destructive net zero bollocks and wheezes such as jail time for misgendering. All IMHO of course

A few notes following some time behind the wheel.
Refinement is next level, this is such a smooth and quiet machine.
Handling (particularly roll suppression and steering precision and weighting) is much improved.
In dynamic mode, there is some enhanced engine noise that gives a decent growl, not dissimilar to a v8 (which I like).
Even in its box fresh state, it feels livelier than the outgoing car.
In light of all of the above, I’ve quite enjoyed punting it about.

I find the prospect of a Starmer/Rayner led government terrifying. I have absolutely no idea what he stands for and what his mandate will be because he has flip flopped so much – is this because he is tailoring his pitch and will lead in the same vein ? or his just lying through his teeth so he can get the keys and fall back on being woke-asaurus rex, ably assisted by the plate of cold mince (aka Angela Rayner) ?
As Kahn and Drakeford have shown – they wipe their arses on their mandate the second they get in and pay zero attention to negative feedback from the electorate. Why would Starmer be any different ?
I also cannot forget his behaviour during Covid – he would have had us locked up for years.

Four Fifty AWD - 75th Edition. Carpathian Grey with Ivory/Ebony interior. I apologise in advance for the WBWs The 75th edition is dipped in the goody barrel and all the important stuff sticks (Exterior and interior black packs, performance seats, extended leather, electric memory heated and cooled seats, lovely bit of Alan on the roof). Pano roof and the cold climate pack (heated front screen, heated wheel, 2 zone climate) are the only options fitted to this car. I make no apologies for being an F-Type fan boy - it's an absolute delight. The interior is such a nice place to sit, it being augmented with lots of lovely buttons and switches. Futurists will moan about the screens, but I think they are perfect and " nanny " is on holiday permanently. I may be imagining it, but this one seems to be a tad less nuggety in the ride department, with better tyre roar suppression - but time will tell. However you still get a big bear hug from that lovely V8 - arse biscuits to EV

I like the sound of that (or not - as the case may be I always imagined that your upper crust Lexi are assembled like nothing else for the money. The plural of Lexus is.."Lexus". Unless you're Jeremy Clarkson, of course, then it is indeed, "Lexi". Can't believe I have Googled this..... "The plural of “Lexus” is “Lexuses".......In a history of the car, Lexus: The Relentless Pursuit (2011), Chester Dawson writes that “Lexus” was a shortening (and a respelling) of an earlier choice for the brand name: “Alexis.”
After a little fiddling, Dawson writes, “the group stumbled upon the neologism Lexus.”
How should this linguistic creation be pluralized in English? Like any other noun ending in “s,” it’s made plural by adding “es”—hence, “Lexuses.”
Lexus marketing wonks can pretend the plural of Lexus is Lexus - but it isn't. Lexi would be acceptable if the word Lexus was Latin. In future - I think I will say " Lexus vehicles "

It awaits to be seen what happens, at what should be the bespoke end (Rolls / Maybach etc), when specifiers finally work out that a screen with same build and tech as a five year old’s tablet device is neither premium or bespoke. Very valid concern - at least bespoke manufacturers can top and tail someone else's system, but your standard premium makes are using the same interfaces in their entry level product all the way to their 6 figure models. They look and feel identical - and as more switchgear is swapped out, it's getting more homogenous. If you look at an early noughties touchscreen now, they are archaic - but I assume given the improvements in graphics, the current systems will take longer to age.

Sorry - yes this is the new RRS.
I can't fathom the button/knob removal either - aside from the reasons already called out, it's a lost opportunity to display some design flair and craftsmanship (or sweat the tooling already paid for).

Very tidy - do these use the same gearbox as the LC500 ?
The only ones I have seen have been in that rather sudden metallic blue - it looks very smart in the grey.
What's the build quality like ? Is it 100% rattle free ?

D300 Dynamic SE Varesine Blue, Ebony Interior It has some options: 22” Style 5127 Black Pack Sliding panoramic roof Privacy Glass Centre console fridge Gesture Tailgate Park Assist Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control Soft door close Ventilated seats front and rear This is a 24MY car – so all of climate knobs and centre console buttons have been removed and added to the touch screen. The touch screen itself looks very pretty and is lighting fast, but it has a haptic feature and you need to push the icon like a button, otherwise it doesn’t register…..for the first 20 miles I thought it was broken. I assume this is one of the answers for “ I’ll take – things that no one asked for – for ten point please Bob “. It is really nice to drive though and a big improvement over the outgoing car (handling, steering, powertrain installation and general refinement). Speaking of which, after 22 months and 25k miles, the L494 went back with no blots on it’s copy book.

Drive the 440i and the XE - pick your favourite.
Ditch the 4 pot Alfa
If you are considering a Model 3 - I would finance/lease a new one (after that CAR article, it seems the newer the better).
I've seen some sharp lease deals recently and Tesla are doing 0% finance on existing stock and some demos. I presume your company don't have any salary sacrifice offers for EVs ?

If you read this month’s CAR magazine group test, the comments on the Tesla’s being delivered now suggest the product is night and day compared with a few years ago (assembly quality, NVH, ride quality, handling precision).

As I said in a previous thread - an EV future is exciting and the possibilities for awesomeness are vast, but somewhat tempered by the level of computerised interference and tracking that will be foisted upon us at the same time (and the usual charging and infrastructure concerns).
Then I realised in that regard we are completely bolloxed anyway because.
- Most new ICE cars are already poisoned with the nanny knows best and supergrass " technology ".
- Even if you stay old school - the rapidly increasing network of cameras that can calculate average speed, dash cam snitches and the likelihood that road charging will either be ANPR based or GPS based for all means that we are in the twilight years of making progress.
How thoroughly depressing.

I think you are both being too generous attributing the legislative nonsense to ignorant idiocy.
Whilst it's true that London dwellers have better public transport options - I think they know full well that cars are the only viable options in many use cases, they just don't care.
I've seen a think tank report that identifies making driving more unpleasant and expensive is a recommended and viable strategy to reduce car usage. All of the unpleasant factions jump on this and sane voices are simply not present in the group think circle jerk (because climate change, inequality, blah, blah, blah).

Newcastle and back this weekend - and the lane hogging peeenarses were out in full force.
The most bizarre being the 3 car convoy on the A1M - brand new RS6, followed by a Elgrand, followed by a VW Tiago, all nose to tail in the outside lane at 70 mph (everyone undertook them).
On my previous list, I forgot to add people who do not accelerate down slip roads and who clearly think joining a busy motorway at 43 mph is in some way both sensible and acceptable.

These very same bellends can often be found dithering at junctions, dawdling off traffic lights and sitting in lane 2 whilst another kindred spirit takes 3 miles to pass them in the outside lane.
Traffic congestion could be reduced significantly if team space cadet drove attentively and did not treat the throttle pedal like an electrode wired to their genitals.
Case in point: A few years ago I was sat in a queue of traffic on the A46 to cross the roundabout to join the M40 - I worked out that the traffic light phasing would allow 10 cars through safely, but at each phase only 6 or 7 cars made through because people in the queue were picking their nose, scratching their arse, pissing about with the stereo (delete as appropriate) rather than paying attention.
The queue of traffic was approx 30 cars deep and I wondered if people didn’t dawdle, would I even be sat in this queue ?
As regards speed limits - vehicle speedometers generally under read and prosecution guidelines allow 10% + 2mph over the posted limit. Therefore if you are stuck behind a vehicle and you are travelling at an indicated 45 mph in a 60 limit:
- You need to be doing 68 mph to get your collar felt - If you are stuck at 45 mph indicated, your actual speed is likely to be between 41 and 42 mph (dependant on the car) - So even leaving a margin for error (indicated 66mph, actual speed 61 - 62 mph) - that’s a big chunk of forward progress being left on the table.
I would like to know if the police ever consider how many big A road accidents are down to a risky overtake of a sanctimonious rolling road block. I am not justifying in any way the behaviour of the overtaker, but human nature being as it is - this will happen.
