Must be my inner pikey, but I fancy that L200 Desert Warrior....
Wonder if there's any truth in the rumour that the Starion was a mis-pronunciation due to the Japanese having difficulties with the letter L?

Following up: No1 was chock busy from the moment it arrived until lockdown started to bite again - had bookings of at least 3 nights a week from 1st week in August to after half term. Then that cunt Drakenford closed Wales which cost us a bunch of hires, then lockdown fucked us over till christmas. As it is we have twelve bookings already this year so things are looking good. Trying to be smart arses, we bought our own van to convert - another T6 Startline - reckoning on being able to get a similar conversion for around £15k. Which we can. But not before July... So today we sold the van which we bought direct from VW in September for the sum total of £18500. Having used it for the last 6 months whilst rennovating a house and a flat and taking the mileage up to 18k, Webuyanyvan.com snatched it of us for £21,050! So now we wait for the money to hit the account before heading north of the border to the Peoples Republic of Sturgeonville to collect Big Green

The EU is now threatening to block exports of vaccines to countries that are vaccinating at a higher rate than them. Presumably they want more AZ vaccine to not use. In other news, UK has passed 25million first doses! It is a strange situation - millions of vaccines sitting unused in fridges but we're not going to let you have any more from the factory because we haven't got enough (to stockpile unused in fridges, presumably). You do have to wonder what level of incompetence Ursula VDL has to to fall to before someone steps in and says enough is enough, on your bike.Anyway, aren't most of our imported AZ vaccines coming from India now? Are EU gunboats or fighters going to be intercepting them? The woman who left Germany with only 40% working aircraft in it's airforce, no operable submarines, It's latest fleet of Frigates failing their sea trials and not being fitted with torpedoes or sonar, all of it's Tiger attack helicopters grounded, it's contribution to NATO's Very High Readiness Task Force of 44 Leopard 2 tanks and 14 Marder APC's actually only having nine and three serviceable and a battalion of infantry sent on a NATO exercise with broomsticks instead of rifles and got promoted to the EU rather than sacked in disgrace? She must have Mutti's old Stasi file in her possession with something juicy in it...

Let’s be honest, the reasons this particular crime s making such a splash is because the victim was a white, middle class female, the alleged perpetrator was a police officer and it took place during COVID restrictions when news in general (especially this type) is a bit slower than normal. Change any one of three things and it becomes just’ another murder. Then you add in the Met high command’s usual incompetence, a bunch of rentamob activists (just what does attempting to attack Churchill’s statue have to do with the poor woman’s death?) and you have the current shitshow. We bring our boys up to defend themselves knowing that ther men can be bastards and to give them (literally) a fighting chance - an average 13 stone man is going to have a chance against another man, your average 11stone woman won’t, which is why we bring our daughters up to be more careful.

Sorry, I was referring to Ed Macy M.C, a guy from Middlesbrough, who got into the Army Air Corp despite having no qualifications. I've just bought the kindle book based on that recommendation. No pressure then.... It’s fucking epic. I’m surprised he could get his massive balls through the cockpit door.

It just goes to show how different we all are. In highly unlikely event of either Herself or me getting a job in London, the only consideration would be the cost of the rail season ticket from Moreton-in-Marsh. Moving even one inch closer to London would be absolutely out of the question. For the avoidance of doubt, having grown up partly in one of the more remote bits of the Suffolk coast and having been educated in the leafy surroundings of Suffolk, Berkshire, Fife and Surrey, I do not share my wife's views on this. I'm quite partial to the idea of a remote house with scarcely another sign of humanity in sight, not unlike my aunt's house on Islay. It is my wife's idea of a complete nightmare. Ergo marriage is all about compromise! Mercifully, having also lived in several major cities as a child and as an adult, I'm also ok with inner city life. Yup, you say you want one thing, she says she wants another, therefore you compromise and get/do what she wants! I always tell my younger male cousins (or their spouses for the girls) that the two most important words for them to learn are ‘yes dear’...

I am hopeful that someone has already disconnected the big red button from actually being live, so Trump can jab all he likes! The problem is Trump is Commander in Chief and the military has no power to refuse his instructions unless it’s an illegal order. To do so would constitute a military coup. Trump having access to the 'Red Button' is an irrelevance. It has at least a two stage authorisation, not only must Trump order a launch, so must another senior Administration official such as Vice President, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Director of the CIA, Speaker of the House(!) etc. I'd be more worried about the senile imbeciles such as Biden & Pelosi doing it than Trump...

I'm not particularly taken by Kamala Harris, but anyone who describes her as "pure evil" surely has some sort of problem. I'm struggling to think of any politician, Trump included, who I would describe accurately as "pure evil". The problem with Trump wasn't that he was entirely wrong, but that what he got right (mainly China) was masked by all the many other things he got wrong. Likewise I hope that Biden will stand up to the overly woke nonsense on the progressive left of his party. I'm not sure Harris would pander to it all that much either - I suspect she's too ruthless and ambitious for that. I think accepting that all people are equal and should be treated accordingly is simply common sense, never mind morally appropriate. But I'm not going to describe myself ever as "cisgender" for example. That level of jiggery-wokery is just silly. Read up on Kamala's time as DA and you'll see why people would describe her as 'pure evil'. The fact that the worst of her actions were against poor, black people (sorry, people of colour) and shw hasn't been called on it in these woke times is a damning indictment od the US press corps. In fact, the whole 'but Trump..' thing that has been pushed over the last 4 years is bizzare.

AS much as I'm frustrated with Boris and his bunch of 'chancers', is there any other group in Westminster who'd do better? That ferrety-faced fuck in charge of the Labour party has been calling for lockdown again and calling for Christmas to be cancelled for weeks, is now saying the opposite!

<snip> Red Bull should drop Albon for 2021, and hire Perez. Albon just isn’t quite good enough for me. He can bag the odd podium in strange circumstances, but he lacks the confidence to push the limits, make overtakes stick and get close to Verstappen. Albon was an odd choice personally speaking; I never thought he was that outstanding in the junior ranks. Not considering what Helmut Marko demands, anyway. Red Bull needs a broader change. Instead of parachuting whatever hot shot who looks impressive into either Red Bull team, they should look further afield to boost their constructor standings. Perez would bring a huge amount to Red Bull; he would also have a positive impact on Verstappen too. It sometimes feels like Verstappen takes risks, because he has little to lose against Mercedes, and with his teamate so far away. Put Perez alongside him, and Verstappen would have something to lose – his status as clear number one in the team. In qualifying I still think that Verstappen would be slightly faster, but the difference would be small, and with both qualifying in similar grid positions, there would be internal competition in the team again. <snip> [/quote] IIRC one of Red Bull's owners is Thai just like Albon is. Keeping the boss happy?

Dark blue jeans, tshirt/polo shirt & hoodie/jumper. Clients are only allowed in the office by prior appointment and 99% don't want to come in so I don't bother with anything else. If I have a valuation I'll revert to my normal office attire of black trousers, white shirt & jumper. I'm another who won't wear sports gear/loungewear for anything other than sport or lounging around the house (with the exception of once a month whe I go for my cancer jab 'cos the injection site is high up on the arse and is fucking painfull when you sit down and the wasteband of trousers/jeans rubs on it, in whoich case I'll wear tracksuit bottoms & a tshirt). I'll even go & get changed just to nip out for a pint of milk.
Astonishing for scouser I know...

I must say that having listened to the radio (R4 and R2) a bit these last few days, the turnaround from 24 hr Trump hate in to 24 hr Biden / Harris love in is getting rather annoying. And not very balanced. The way some of the BBC reporters are talking, you'd think that Hitler had just lost an election. I remember four years ago everybody saying that Trump would kill us all in a nuclear war. But I think he was actually the first president in ages not to start a war with anybody. He was. And if not brought about peace in the middle east, he's managed to bring it a whole lot closer or even just the begining of a re-alignment with Saudi supposedly next to normalise realtions with Israel.

I think the American public have made a good call, they've recognised Trump isn't fit for office and Biden isn't fit for power. He's basically got a Theresa May situation where he can't do a great deal but I suspect the world will polarise around him and we'll have a decisive win for the left or right next time. But 71 million did think he was fit for office and voted for him in record numbers. If Biden's coronavirus plan stalls their recovery, their 401Ks don't continue their meteoric rise as under Trump, they see China starting to get their way again, they'll vote for Trump again in 2024. Will the Democrats come out in force again in 2024 or will they fade away? Without the 24hr rolling 'Trump is unfit for president' news, I wonder what would have happened or what will happen in 2024? After all he increased his support across ALL demographics despite 5 years of 'Trump is a racist/sexist/homophobe/islamophobe/sinophobe/Russian Stooge' (delete as preferred).

Is it not coming out of speakers then? Sounds to me like it's playing in the room... ETA. Just looked at some of their other videos. Gotta be BS. How can anyone who doesn't live up a tree in the Amazon get to their late teens without ever once hearing Bohemian fucking Rhapsody? Incredulous! You'd be surprised. A couple of LSII's mates had never heard it before I had it on in the car taking them the cinema last year; 14 year old, white, English kids with the usual acess to the interweb etc so it doesn't surprise me that a couple of black kids who's musical culture is very different won't have heard it. These two are quit entertaining for reaction vids: www.youtube.com/channel/UCJPOmOZzDxZZxPWFgeE50hQ

I can't think of anything specific that is unusual. Perhaps only that by British standards, I gather that we eat late. You might think that a legacy of having lived abroad, but actually I don't remember either set of grandparents eating early either. Lunch is almost never before 1pm at either my mother's or my father's home, and supper time is not normally earlier than 8pm. Likewise, in our house. We are quite similar in meal times or rather were before the kids came along - a legacy of me & my brother wanting to eat with dad when he got home from work, usually around 7.30-8pm. All changed when the kids came along as Mrs scouse wanted us to eat together at the table, so tea time became 5.30-6 as soon as I got in. Late lunches I always preferred as it meant the afternoon was shorter in work.

I think it was Jordan Peterson who pointed out that the fact that there weren't as many women in boardrooms pointed out that women were likely to be more intelligent in many respects as it is a pretty shitty slope to climb with the extra long (oftewn unpaid) hours, extra stress, less holidays, far less family/social time etc etc. Watching him debate any feminist is actually quite amusing - if you haven't watched it, then I suggest you watch the one with on Channel 4 news with Cathy Newman. Denmark, who are probably about 10 years (minimum) ahead of us in workplace equality have made concerted efforts to get more women into boardrooms and higher positions within companies but have met considerable resistance for precisely the reasons you quoted. If they want more women in boardrooms they've got to change boardrooms fundamentally to make them a more attractive calling for intelligent people. It's not just that. The data from the scandinavian countries apparantly show that even with all the changes that they have brought in and pushed on the population (and kids especially), on the whole men prefer working with things, are competetive/driven and are prepared to skew the work/life balance towards work for the eventual rewards and women prefer working with people and on the whole aren't prepared to make the same sacrifices.

"Against newer competition, official sales figures shows Range Rover chalking up only 112 deliveries for the first half of 2020. That’s 49.3 per cent down on the same period for the previous year, and is losing ground to key competition." like the world being in lockdown for the half of the first six months of the year wouldn't have had anything to do with those sales figures..
Some nice touches in that video though.

I like it and I love the fact that its got a NA V12, just not sure how well a 12000rpm V12 would suit a road car. If it was a track day special, then I'd see the point, but surely 12k is a bit much the road.

Anyone who thinks that photograph is in any way sexually provocative really should be getting some help themselves. I don't believe I would ever have chosen such an image for an advert and as has already been said it was perhaps a bit naive but the people who complain about this stuff are the real danger. I heard a woman on TV the other night spouting on about the fact that because there wasn't equality in the boardroom it was clear evidence of sexist behaviour by the middle aged men who occupy most boardroom positions. I can assure her it is not in any of the boardrooms I deal with - they choose the best person for the job regardless but there are less women to choose from for a whole multitude of reasons none of which are related to sexist behaviour. Some people just like a bandwagon to express their unhappiness, justified or not.
