I've had two, both in average speed roadworks sections of the M6. First was years ago, 72 in a 60 at 5am just before Thelwall where it's at least 5 lanes. I missed the first camera before the cones, then slowed to around 65 until the junction for the M56. Second was earlier this year at 1.13 am av speed 60 in a 50, which I've disputed. I sped up between two sets of roadworks between J21 and J22 only to find that they had already moved the roadwork cones on without changing the signage. The sign said 1/2 mile to lane closure only for it to be 100 yds ahead. 4 of us who were doing 75-0 in the outside lane had to do an emergency lane change as the cones suddenly appeared in our headlights. I believe the camera's had been changed but not the signage, but no doubt I'll get told otherwise.

Brent crude and the US equivalent are back down to around $95/97 a barrel from the highs of $115/120 a week ago. Even if it drops back to around $75/80 what’s the bets that the new ‘normal’ will be around £1.60 instead of back to £1.40/1.45?

The little arm that passes you the seatbelt when you sit down, absolute godsend to those of us who struggle to twist in the seat. The airscarf for when the roof is down. The feeling of solidity for a convertable

I chopped off the corner of my ring finger (including a chunk of nail) last year cutting up dog treats after I’d just sharpened the kitchen knives and repeatedly warned everyone in the house to take care with them..

My brother tested positive the Monday before Christmas (after spending the friday before all day in a van with me), confirmed by PCR on the Tuesday. I tested positive on the Wednesday, confirmed by PCR on Thursday. Felt crap with typically flu-ey symptons on the Friday but other than a bit of tiredness over the following couple of days that was it. Mrs Scouse tested positive on Boxing day (which pissed her off royally as it meant the NHS cancelled her gallbladder surgery shceduled for NYE), felt crap for a couple of days, but that was it. LSI & LSII never caught it, neither did my parents despite us literally living in one anothers houses.
My parents then went of a fly/cruise out to Dubai on the 18th Jan - tested negative before going. Ma said she felt awful with flu symptons around the 26th, got isolated to the cabin initially but tested negative. Got home on the 1st Feb, both got negative tests over the next couple of days, then both tested positive on Monday 7th then clear on the Wednesday & Thursday.
Considering both my dad and me were supposed to be in the 'dont-get-this-whatever-you-do-or YOU'LL DIE' group, it was a bit of anti-climax.

I may have mentioned before that I live on a blind bend. Doing some admin today I noticed that teh HGV's where slowing rihht down and inching round the corner, do I pop upstairs and look out the window to see why. Low and behold a pair of cretins changing a tyre. Off-side tyre. On a blind bend. Where driving a further 50 yards would have made it 100x safer.

I know it's old-tech, but the arm that reaches out with the seatbelt from the B pillar when you start the car. Not a big thing, but when you're big around the shoulders/chest and have a fucked up lower back, it's a God send.

Does anyone check mrs scouse even has the app on her phone? If not I’d be making some space on the phone. That's what I said, however (tinfoil hat time) who knows whether deleting the app *actually* deletes the app completely? I told her to use my old phone and the sim out of her ipad if she wants to go out, but as Garry said, it's advisory, so unless she gets the phone call telling her to stay inside, then they can get fucked.

Mrs Scouse has just been pinged by test & trace due to being in 'close contact' to someone who has tested positive for covid 5 days ago and now has to self-isolate until 31st July. Just one major problems with this: on Thursday 22nd Juy she DIDN'T LEAVE THE FUCKING HOUSE ALL DAY, it being her fist day off since school finished. Have you got any near neighbours? Bluetooth is a fantastically bad technology to use as a proximity sensor. You can get over 40 metres in direct line of sight and struggle to get 2 metres sometimes. So Mrs Scouse could have been pinged because someone walked slowly past your house. Her choice, but a ping is only advisory. My only neighbours are my parents (until the new tenants move into No.3). The main road does go past the end of my garden, so maybe someone walking the other side of the wall might have been the ping. Bloody farce either way.

Late to this, but broadly agree with what people have said. I think the stewards HAD to penalise Hamilton as without the red flag his race would have been fucked, what with a damaged front wing and boken wheel that was replaced in the pitlane. how ,uch would that have cost him in racing conditions? 40 seconds? A lap? Still, about time someone treated Max the way he does.

Nice looking, but how long will the V6 be available when Mercedes already does the same engine with over 400 ponies? Can't imagine it'll be too long before it gets dropped and that, to me, would make it 100% less desireable. That kind of car needs more than 4 banger, even one with hairdryer and lots of horses.

For the first time in 6 years of having my XFR's serviced by them, Jaguar have messaged me asking if I want a valuation and to talk about next moves car-wise... I imagine they want as much good SH stock as they can get hold of! New car supply is a real issue so the used market is very hot at the moment. Yup, a mate of mine who works at Halewood says that they barely built a car for a couple of weeks becasue there is a massive shortgae of ECUs.

I got one of those letters last year demanding that I cut back my hedge that was overhanging the road. Only problem is that I have a wall and it's actually the house across the road that has the overhanging trees/hedge/holly bushes

We got Big Breen & Big Green Too from Glasgow. Train up and drove back. Bloody frustrating with a 75mph speed limiter on the vans.
Good luck with the 'sourcers', we put our poretfolio up with a couple and have been less than impressed to say the least.

Does it have some sort of sensor in the boot so that if you've filled it then absentmindedly drop the roof it doesn't squash your luggage/break the roof? I presume so, it folds into that black box on the 2nd boot picture.

Looks very nice. The steering wheel looks like it'll take some getting used to with its twin bank of buttons. Irregardless of the 4 pot diesel I suspect it's a very nice, comfortable and easy car to drive. Mercs modern 4cyl diesels don't ever sound that diesely when I've had one drive past me during my walks so I suspect they're even less brash sounding on the inside. The wheel is a bit of pain coming from the previous e-class. Some switches (such as volume control) are sliding-touch button, others are press buttons. I was pleasantly surpised at how refined and un-diesel like the engine note is with the roof down

You can tell that from the slightly more wide-mouthed frog front. Congrats - nice car. I preferred the design pre-facelift myself, but yes the E-convertible is overall an easy car to like. What's cabin/boot space like? There's genuinely room for 4 normal-ish sized adults for day to day use. With me in the driving (5'10), LSII behind me (5'6) I don't have to move the seat at all. Not saying I'd like to do a proper long trip in it 4 up mind... Bood space is generous with the roof up, becoming a rather less so, strange L-shape with it down. Probably big enough for two carry on hard cases, then a couple of squahy nags under the roof when it's down.

It's very nice, but can you please sell it straight away then? We'd like the sun and dry weather back. Bryan is just trying to divert blame, the weather got worse when he bought the S4, not 6 days ago! Car does look really good and I’m guessing from the steering wheel it’s the facelift car? Yup, fresh off the boat and first registered a fortnight ago

I know I say it every time, but bring back H-pattern gearboxes. You can even automate them if you want - after all if you can get it to disenage-clutch-change gear-re-engage clutch just by clicking a paddle, you can do it by moving a lever. Should lengthen brake distances and lap times (iirc the basic fore/aft sequential gear box was worth nearly two seconds a lap back in super-tourer days) and increase the chance of driver error under pressure resulting in more genuine overtakes rather than DRS helplessness. I've heard the excuse 'Oh they've got so many other alterations to make on the steering wheel to do that' and I have the perfect answer: Get rid of it all. Two fuel maps - full whack & conserve, brake balance, maybe an anti-roll bar adjustment and you're good to go.

That was the only other colour available! I thought they only came in white. :-) So are these his and hers Mercs? No, the estate is going back as soon as it's had it's final service. We've replaced Mrs Scouse's DS3 with an A4 Saloon. A bloody nice 'little' car for a 1ltr turbo at £180 +vat per month. more of mine:

Why yes, yes I do. Got quite taken with how easy the e-class is to use, so I got another: E220 AMG-Line, Premium Edition Cabriolet to give it its full title.

Had mine on the 15th. Bit of sore arm, but nowt else. Mind you, I'd had my cancer jab two days before, so was already feeling pretty shitty. My consuktant has been having fits over me not being in the first batch, but he has fits about me still wortking anyway. Christ knows what he'll be like when he finds out Im no longer working behind a desk and am renovating houses and cleaning vans instead.
