My vision is similar to Twelfth's and I'm a similar age. But there's no way I could comfortably wear a 46mm diameter watch. I draw the line at 42mm, and any future purchases will be 40mm or smaller. The case width of the Suunto is 50mm. It's starting to make me feel like I should be hitting the gym, getting a few tattoos and buying a black Range Rover Spurt........

Looks like this on my wrist against the titanium eco-drive I also bought at huge discount a few months ago, which is also far slimmer. Face is 28mm diameter and overall it is 38mm dia.

Top ones are mechanical automatic, middle ones are quartz, bottom ones are all Farer watches (two quartz, two mechanical).
The newest ones are numbers 2, 3 and 6 in the top photo. They are an NTH Barracuda Vintage Black, a Farer Aldrich World Timer, and a Seiko Presage Cocktail Time. Very pleased with all three of them, but possibly need to thin the herd a little!

The last one's very strange!
You've really let your inner collector of the leash, haven't you? I ordered another LIV today, as my Christmas present. Very little different from the existing one but silver face rather than black.
They have a Black Friday event on at the moment, with between 20 and 50% off - this was one of the cheaper (quartz) ones and only 20% off, but I had a code from the other one for 25% off so under £300 inc delivery. Can't grumble about that...

If I had the choice of all those watches I'd never get out the door in the morning!

I just write the time on a piece of paper before I leave the house in the morning, then I have it with me in case I need to check the time during the day...

Just bought a Garmin watch from Amazon. Been wanting one for a while for running with but waited and got a decent deal today. Not a fan of smart watches so think I’ll stick with my regular chronograph most of the time.

Christopher Ward have had my C70 for a while now, for service. Lead time was 8 weeks! I should hopefully have it back my mid-December. £150 for service and battery. It's the first watch I've ever owned that needs a service but, as it's a COSC-certified chronograph and includes postage, I guess that isn't too bad in watch terms?
We still haven't sirted out the Rolex. Job for the New Year now.

Arrived today and had to shove it under the tree. Not fair.

OK I still need to put the date right on this, but under £40 for a £150 watch was too good to resist for a Christmas Pressie to myself over the counter in Swindon this afternoon. I was looking at getting a Skagen as a Danish-made souvenir when I was in Copenhagen 2 years ago but they were too expensive; love their super-slim build and low weight, plus the unlimited adjustment metal band strap.

I rather like the clean design of that.
I'm still intending to treat myself to a MHD watch, possibly at Prescott next May. Just need to put a couple of hundred quid aside from the Xmas overtime.

I like the Skagen as well. Stu - I look forward to accompanying you when you make your MHD purchase After my splurge this year, I am intending not to buy any more watches until at least 2021, maybe even longer!

I have my CW that desperately needs a service but when it was less then £400 new I'm loathe to spend £150+ on a service even if it is an automatic. I think the same watch is now about £800 new so probably makes it justifiable.

I recently had a significant birthday and the kind people at my work did a collection and bought me a watch (carefully chosen on the quiet by me ).

The only time I got something at work on my birthday, it was a card on my 21st, and that's only because some of the staff found out by accident on the day itself.
40th birthday present was to be made redundant, nothing for reaching 50 or 60 :-(

Unsurprisingly, I like Ollie's Nomos Tangente. My Tangente Neomatik Silvercut says Guten Tag His is more elegant than mine, which feels like it's trying slightly too hard to have a sense of humour. And interestingly I don't particularly like the new Roues. Just goes to show that different things float our boats, wrist-wise. I admire the El Primero although it's also not one that I lust after. Now that I've changed the strap on my Farer Lander Chronograph to the new chestnut sports version, I have really gelled with it to the extent that it's probably the favourite of my watches, and you may remember that I was somewhat undecided when the watch turned up back in May or whenever it was. It's amazing how much difference a strap can make to the overall aesthetic.

Lol. Love that One of the reasons I love the Nomos is that no-one has a clue what it is and almost certainly don’t think it’s expensive Been looking at others whilst on meetings tonight - taking a liking to some of the Strela / Poljot / Sekonda Chronos as well. I really like some of the Farer offerings and items like the Lander GMT and Hudson were shortlisted but decided on a simpler offering this time. Oh, and yes, a different strap can completely change the look and ‘feel’ of a watch. I have a black shell cordovan leather on the Nomos but it also came with a tan Leather alternative and a couple of Perlons which, whilst very unusual for a watch like the Tangente, actually look ok!

I do find the idea of a "luxury watch" amusing...... a watch is watch is a watch. It can't cosset you or provide food and drink to satisfy thirst or appetite etc etc, it tells the time ! How much you choose to spend on a watch is another matter but ultimately it has one main purpose.
EDIT: For the "heated steering wheel club" members - I suppose someone could produce a watch with a heated back side (oooh er, matron) so that it does not provide a cold "sting" to the wrist when you first put it on; I suppose I'd be prepared to classify that as a luxury
