^ But presumably you can always change the strap to a different type? I have a bit of an issue with metal bracelet straps as my wrist alters in size with ambient temperature, so a watch that sits nicely on my wrist in winter will dig into me in summer Rolex has a solution for this (as you'd expect at the price) with the Oyster metal bracelet.
There is a little catch inside the clasp that enables you to tighten or loosen the bracelet by about 5mm. I find the difference is enough to resolve the problem for me.
Similar effect in a slightly different fashion on my Elliott Brown. Very handy actually.

I had you down more as a black polo neck Milk Tray man! A black polo neck with a wetsuit? Are you mad? (Or Jean Paul Gaultier?)

A bit of Googling suggests that there are wetsuits that actually look like wet suits - so perhaps Bob Bond (or James Sacamano) is sartorially on fleek... Wore the Nomos to work today and have the Farer on my wrist as I type. Breaking the straps in nicely!

It's about time I posted some pictures of the new arrivals. Nomos Tangente Neomatik 39 Silvercut on the left, Farer Lander Chronograph on the right: The respective case backs - very nicely finished: And the current collection in full - cheapest on the left, most expensive on the right: L-R: Roue HDS One Roue SSD One Seiko SKX013 LIV Rebel DDC Farer Frobisher II Farer Ainsdale Farer Lander Chronograph Nomos Tangente The Tangente is very light on the wrist, you barely know it's there. It's very slim for an automatic mechanical watch. Despite it 'only' having a 38.5mm case, it looks like a flying saucer on my relatively slim wrist, since it's all dial. I know this watch won't be to everybody's taste but I like it very much and it certainly has its place if you have several different watches to wear. I wouldn't choose it as my only watch, though. The Lander Chrono feels much more sturdy and substantial, even though it's not particularly big for an automatic mechanical chronograph (the case width is 39.5mm and 12.5mm thickness). The dial is really nicely finished and looks really different under different lighting conditions. I would indeed prefer a more blue version of this watch (it's a little bit more green in real life than it appeared on the website) but I like how it looks and feels, and that it's a little bit different from the norm. Thoughts and opinions welcome, positive or negative

I've been enjoying my mid life crisis since the age of 24 when I bought my first hot hatch. You're ahead of me there, Andy! Edit: some might argue that the mid life crisis started when I bought my first git plate, aged 21 Farers - I paid £372, £527 and £1675 respectively. This is the pricing on their website, I think you can only buy them direct. The costs for each watch differ slightly according to which strap you choose. If you choose the rubber straps the prices are slightly cheaper, and the mesh bracelet costs a bit more.

My first thought is that you clearly like black straps! Yep. Strap-wise, I have no imagination! But I'm thinking that a brown leather strap might suit the Lander Chronograph nicely, and probably work well on the other Farers too.

I'm glad you've ended up pleased with them all. They're a smidge restrained for my mid-life crisis tastes, but obviously life would be dull if we were all the same! I know I'll be adding another LIV at some stage - new pre-amp and mew laptop in the queue in front of it though, I fear.

I like the Lander but not the Nomos.
But then again I was idly in Watchfinder’s Royal Exchange boutique yesterday and there was nothing in there that I really particularly wanted apart from obviously a Rolex Daytona (much too expensive and it’s very banker wanker image), a Jaeger Le Coultre Reverso (much too expensive for any of the versions I like) or a Cartier Ronde dress watch (not cheap either).
Think I’m pretty happy with what I have to be honest.

They're a smidge restrained for my mid-life crisis tastes, ...... I'm in the same position - eyeing up large, colourful watches that a couple of years ago I wouldnt've looked twice at. I lay the blame squarely at your feet for buying that Suunto and somehow showing that a giant watch needn't be totally crass

I'd have a Pepsi Rolex as I've always liked them but the only way I'd have a Daytona is if I won it at Le Mans, highly unlikely or if it was vintage.
Still got a thing for a GMT Panerai or Chopard Mille Miglia however

Ooh, this is getting interesting . Maybe I should pretend that I've got some other internet bidders and try to drive the price up further! The presumption is now in favour of the watch staying, so I may end up having to thank the bidders but withdraw the lot Couldn't you get them to make you a custom version, with the face in the same colour paint as your Cayman?? Ford must have had a "thing" about Candy Blue when it was launched... It's not quite the same colour as the car but close, and of course it's not the face that matches but the entire 1-piece strap. It came with a second white strap, the mechanism just clips in and out of the straps. Around £30 IIRC off a Ford shop clearance on eBay not that long after I got the car in 2016

What's the case width? Looks quite a big thing, perhaps one that only Twelfth can carry off?

The case is 46mm dia, the watch face is 35mm dia

What's the case width? Looks quite a big thing, perhaps one that only Twelfth can carry off? What's frustrating is that even with the chunkier sizes I now prefer, my short range vision is rubbish so I don't see them at their best (unless I am reading or typing and therefore specced up) - beyond about 2m my vision is pretty much perfect and longer range it's better than 20/20, so I don't wear specs otherwise.

That's one issue I have - reading at close distances hence the move to as big a dial as I can get on my wrist comfortably, plus large hands that contrast clearly against the dial face. I've worn the Toro Rosso watch to work today and it's definitely very easy to see the time at a glance !

My vision is similar to Twelfth's and I'm a similar age. But there's no way I could comfortably wear a 46mm diameter watch. I draw the line at 42mm, and any future purchases will be 40mm or smaller.
