Doesn't Superleggera mean 'super lightweight'? If so, I suspect that'll be a lie of biblical proportions.

That is exactly how a modern Aston should look.

If you squint at it, you can sort-of see a certain Jaguar .........

Grille: comic Vanes behind wheel arch: comic book feature Rear end: American.
I've stopped wanting Astons. The DB9 is very pleasant to behold but only in certain specs and colours. Almost all others I can't see the beauty or elegance and there is no one on earth going to convince me that this thing pictured is elegant no matter how affected their eyes are.

The new Vantage is a munter, too.

I'm not seeing the appeal either. The DB11 is a bit of a munter up close and this is just a fussier version.

I really must be getting old as I just don't see the appeal of that A-M, or similar low, wide ultra-powerful cars any more !

Quite like it, it certainly stands out dare I say more interesting than an 812. Superleggera is lie but wasn't it also on the DB6 Volante which was a truck.
Biggest hate is the A S T O N M A R T I N on the back. I know its for the emerging markets so they know what it is but it looks cack compared to the traditional wings design.

Leaving aside things like the Lagonda, up to the DB9 they were always elegant cars or brutish but elegant cars and some attained pure beauty. They are now over-styled and over-fussy, like so many other cars are now. Agree with Ed too re the rear lettering. Like Jaguar had to write "Jaguar" on the back of everything too.

I'd rather have a previous shape Vantage.
I also can't help but think that a mighty 712BHP beast is completely unsuitable for the bit of raod pictured behind it in the photo above!

It's left hand drive, so they can't have just pulled over to photograph it. More likely, the driver must have spun it going into that corner too fast and run away.....

I've just looked at the rest of the photos and like it even less now.

It is all aggression and creases, not elegant at all imho.

I think if it was painted one colour (without the aero bollocks in a contrast, same coloured roof etc) and with normal silver wheels it's look a lot better.

Porsche have done it too but somehow it seems to work, but otherwise I thought the whole point of having an iconic logo was that it was instantly recognisable and didn’t need to be spelled out!

I don’t need to share what I think! Ford are at it as well, with Focus spread across the back to the car. Re the word Jaguar under the badge, I commented about it on an Ian Callum tweet and he replied to me, agreeing and blaming the marketing team.

I blame MINI. They started the trend with the C U N T Y M A N, surely? I think a couple of letters fell off...

I like this. But there was a metallic blue Vantage GT8 rumbling around Winchester over the weekend - the most delicious thing I've seen on four wheels in a long time.

I think Sperleggera was originally in reference to the flimsy spaceframe that they attached the body to on sports cars in the 50s. Stuff like the Maserati Birdcage.
However, 1,900kg is ridiculous. Perhaps modern wireless/buttonless technology is incredibly heavy?
Actually, thinking about that, my iPhones have been significantly heavier than the crappy phones I had before them.

Perhaps you should get a SuperSuperLeggera badge for it?

Perhaps you should get a SuperSuperLeggera badge for it? Rather not....I’ll stick with these badges on the A Pillars! They are OK because the doors cover them up when they’re closed.

The last few of the old shape v12 vantage is the dogs bollocks ,I think they are called the 600,much nicer than any of the newer stuff. The dbs couldn’t handle 510bhp so not sure what you do with 700+ bhp front engined rwd ...pray ?
