A mini-me Mk 1 G Wagon. I love it. It maintains the rugged looks of the old one, usefully updated. Plus it has a much better interior (yet still wash out and tough). It;s short length and high up driving position probably make it a good city car as well (manual gearbox excepted). www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/2019-suzuki-jimny-revealedThe MK 1 Panda 4x4 has a successor.....

Is it as likely to trip and fall as easily as the old one?

Yes I like that too. I also was amused by the no-nonsense naming of one of the colours: “Blueish Black Metallic”...

That's brilliant, well done Suzuki. I had high hopes when the images were leaked online a while ago but they seem to have nailed it. It's a shame the bigger versions of this concept, Defender etc, are abandoning utility in favour of luxury.

What's that going to be size wise? I've not read much about it but the idea is quite exciting. I've always had a soft spot for Explorers, less so the versions that made it here, but I'd be interested if the price was right.

Hopefully chopped a bit so there can be a 3 door, but probably unlikely.

That’s a great way to bring a design bang up to date. In many ways I think Mercedes have equally nailed their brief with the new G Wagon. The design department at JLR responsible for working out how to do a new Defender will surely be asked to pull their socks up!

The design department at JLR responsible for working out how to do a new Defender will surely already know to do whatever the 'great' Gerry McGovern tells them to
FYP. I don't think JLR can do a new Defender as, to my eyes, they've followed the Audi/Porsche route of taking one design and spreading it across the whole range. I'm not sure how you'd make that look fit onto a boxy Defender replacement.
