I also like the Quattro Sport styling above the grille - on the yellow one it actually succeeds in drawing your eye away from how big the grille is, which is quite an achievement. It doesn't work so well on the grey one the slats are lost in the paint. So it may be a car to have in black, or a bright colour.
But I'm not sure about the gaping front lower air intakes (well blanking plates on the lesser models). They look overdone. And at the back, what used to be a smooth bumper on the current A1 has become very busy, with more lower holes. Perhaps that is the latest design trend?
The interior looks much better than the current A1.
My non-scientific survey, was that the A1 seemed to be bought predominantly by women. The big question is did women buy the current A1 as it was girly? And that also put men off. So will making it more sporty and "masculine" put off women and attract men. Or put off women and not attract men as it is an A1 (now forever perceived as a girly car...)?

Like the new 8-series, this just looks overstyled compared to its predecessor.
Currently the trend in car design seems to be for ever fussier designs replete with detailing for detailing’s sake. I’m not a fan.

Looks oddly like a Kia Stonic to me.

It's impressive how large a grill they've managed to fit onto such a small car. Can't get excited about this at all.

To my eyes it looks more like a DS3 replacement than an A1

I quite liked the old A1, but this looks like a Chinese market version (or copy). The vent is good, but the rest is too fussy and ugly in parts.

Watched a long video about this on YouTube yesterday.... looks kind of interesting as an upgrade to the current A1; wonder if my younger daughter will have eyes for it in a few years time?

Bit too overstyled with all those fake vents in the bumpers, but I like the overall shape. Good that the boot is a little bigger than before, too. Look forward to the S1 and seeing what sort of performance that has.

I quite like it. The S1 remains very much on my shortlist, assuming it gets a proper manual gearbox.

I'd be more interested in the S1 if it had a lower price! Maybe it's just me, but if you look around at what else you could buy for the same money (and discounts on the A1 range are apparently hard to get and not that generous when you do find them) ......

I'm the opposite. I'd prefer an S1 with a DCT.

It's a typical German manufacturer snoozathon - take the current car, add some extra 'styling' lines, a few more gaping vents, a set of fake rear under bumper aero and make the wheels bigger.
I think its a lesson companies like Honda could learn as they seem to start each generation of Civic (for example) with a completely fresh sheet of paper and no carry-over features.

The slotted grille under the bonnet is fake, too.

As Audi's go it's not bad looking - not a fan of the oversized nostrils (I assume the lesser models will be a bit more restrained), and I agree that the design is overly fussy, but what isn't these days? (one of the reasons, for the first time ever I've kept a car for 8 years)
