Had a Ford Edge for a one way trip to San Francisco yesterday and today. It felt big, it wasn’t bad to drive but even as a Ford fan it’s not a car I think I’d buy. Nothing much to write home about it. It was decently equipped with leather and soft touch plastics but still had the same lower plastics my S-Max had and it’s 10 years old now. The engine sounded like a V6 but I didn’t even look at it. Combination of being up too early to return it and not being all that interested... Anyway, summer rental number 1 for me!

^ American versions of cars sold in Europe tend to have much more interesting engine options. I bought a couple of USA car mags when I was in DC last month but haven't had time to read them yet !

Our warranty rep has an Edge, I thought for the money, the interior was appallingly poor quality with hard scratchy plastics and cheap switches.

I was surprised at the soft touch dashboard among other things. It may have been a better spec as the seats had ridges like the Ferrari/Passat someone here had a number of years ago! I’m hoping to get a Mustang/Cameron next week as I’m returning on my own and haven’t driven a current model yet.
