Another bonus (for the wife sell) is that a second car can be easily turned back to cash, whereas the main car is needed.
In your case John, if the M6 did not feel especially enjoyable at low speeds, that's important. It's the amazing low speed ride, sense of occasion, and easy access to controllable little slides out of junctions that make the XFR so nice to use even on the school run, on a 6 miles urban commute it's relaxing as anything one moment, and doing some mild queefery the next. Personally I find the new C63 vastly more desirable than the current M3/M4, even it's slightly dull looks (on the saloon, the coupe is lovely) I prefer to the playground-bully look of the M3/M4. A brightly coloured M4 overtook us in Austria last year and Mrs ALF said "that looks like the sort of car a builder would buy if he made loads of money" and she had a point!
I agree that the C63 is much more desirable than the M4. The facelifted car with the Panamericana grill is about to be launched but there are still lots of the old cars about. I think there must be a bit of a standoff somewhere within Mercedes because the website and all the information is still showing the old car and the new stock of the old car is still pretty extensive. Even though the updated car is available from this month there is no mention of it. The Mercedes site shows the prices of the new cars (pre facelift) at dealers and they are looking for between £65K to £70K for the majority of them. Most lightly used cars are around £60K for up to a year old but there are a few starting to show signs of breaking out of that price band such as this (which is unfortunately in white) www.mercedes-benz.net/p/uk/en/used-cars/mercedes-amg-c-63-coup%C3%A9/6705a206b822a7e236c0af19a0127c82?owda=misc&pid=passengercars_hp_used-car-search_teaser_int_210217 and is down at £53K with delivery mileage. Once they get on the other side of £50K they will start to get my interest.
The facelift C63 comes with the electronic diff the S currently has and has the 9 speed auto box instead of the old DCT box. It also has a digital dash, improved headlights and a bigger satnav screen. I read somewhere that there was a power uplift but I can't corroborate that anywhere.
