I just got cold called by my provider, O2, who are fairly consistently fine from my perspective. I have a sim-only deal as I buy my handsets from Apple. I was on a deal that was 12 months to end in October at £16/month plus this year's increase making it £16.60. The deal I am now on is 12 month deal at £18/month with a £3/month discount valid to May 2020 plus an extra 1Gb of data (I get nowhere near my allowance normally and 6Gb should be even harder).
So I'm being billed £15/month for a slightly better deal than I had. Conversely I'm about to tell my household insurer to fuck off because they are taking the piss. Perhaps Telefonica should enter the household contents and buildings insurance game.

Whilst I haven't been cold called by my mobile provider (EE), my phone contract is up soon so I've been looking about, I can easily get a better deal than I'm on now; less money, with the latest and greatest handset, more data, extra bits such as free Apple Music, with the same network without even trying and for the past few times when my contract has been up; each renewal has been cheaper and the deal has also been better.
I wonder if it's because with mobiles, they are tangible and always improving, whereas with insurance it's the same old thing; dull and boring and something to have "just in case"; I rarely research insurance but I definately research new phones and contracts.

My brother in law works for ee, so I get family discount. It’s not £15 a month, but I’ve got a great package....iPhone X. 60gb data which I can ‘gift’ to Lindsay (which keeps her tariff low), I can use the data and my free minutes outside Europe (US, Australia etc), free BT Sports, upgrade the handset every 12 months etc.
It’s only going to increase in cost though and £15 a month is a good deal, especially as you didn’t have to change provider to get it.

I get unlimited minutes and texts plus 4GB of data for £12.50/mth sim only from Vodafone. I get a loyal customer discount of 40% I think.
I only ever use 2GB data max so my deal suits me fine.
I buy my phones and keep them for 3 to 4 years. My iphone 6 will be 4 later this year and it still works well but I might look at whatever comes out this September.

I'm on Vodafone SIM only £13.33 per month + VAT, unlimited texts and minutes plus 6GB of data. Jeff - get a business account if you can on renewal - I did through the farm. The customer services team are way better for Vodafone business for example and the rates are a bit keener. I expect it is the same for all providers.
