Well, after months of prevaricating (as predicted) I took daughter no 2 to collect her new car to replace the Jag tonight - she decided she wasn't that fussed about the 7 seat idea and upped the budget a bit, and after liking the idea of a Qashqai and like many of her generation, fond of the idea of a 4x4, spotted a Kuga - 58 plate and very well cared for by the current owner who has had it 5 years - almost indistinguishable from new - more like a 2 year old car - metallic black, Titanium X - and best thing as far as I was concerned, only 20 miles away.
She actually got excited about a new car too - so much so that she banned her husband from taking it to work tonight.
Anyone want to buy a nice X-Type 2.0 D Sport Estate?

Nice. I like these as family cars.

Nothing wrong with a Kuga, espcially if it's an AWD version .......

My sister in law is into her 7th year of Kuga ownership and loves the practicality, height and all weather ability. She has had a couple of DPF issues but they were sorted by a forced regeneration, new battery, new discs and new alternator but generally pretty reliable motoring.

Yes it is the AWD version - I was the one who took it for the test drive and aside from better steering, the extra gear and obviously the higher driving position was surprised how very much like the Jag it feels. The only car of this type I've ever driven so no idea how it compares to its competitors, but it seems very accomplished and it's way more than her style of driving will ever demand.

Lots of dad polishing and cleaning on the Jag secured a nice easy sale with the first person to view it.
