I'm sure Merc have chosen to launch it in the correct market! The next step will be a 'new' niche involving a luxury SUV pickup, conveniently ignoring the Lamborghini LM002

If the Chinese economy continues to grow to a size where they dominate all design, then we are truly fucked design wise. We can say goodbye to anything stylish, understated or subtle. It's getting worse already - look at the bling on a lot of European designs and its explanation that it is for the Chinese market.

Does my computer have a taste filter I didn't know about? The link won't open for me.

Fuck that is gross. In all meanings of the word. There is only one true luxury brand and that’s owned by BMW. Everything else is shite and this proves it beyond all doubt.

Holy cow that's a munter. No doubt the guys with money will love it as it'll complement their silk Versace shirts a treat.

The link is working today - I wish it wasn't.
I think, "Opinion: Maybach's SUV concept reminds us how different Chinese tastes are" as the sign-off says it all. Can't blame Mercedes - if this is what it takes to get high value sales in that market, well done for appreciating what the customers want and producing it for them.

There’s no way to in-see that. What an utter mess.

I'd like to know the guy who decided this was a good idea.
I'll ask my Chinese colleagues what they think about this tomorrow. Let's see if Merc has gotten this horrifically wrong.

Only someone with an inferiority complex would feel the need to shoehorn a term like Ultimate Luxury into a title. They won't be toppling Rolls or Bentley any time soon...
