If the Chinese economy continues to grow to a size where they dominate all design, then we are truly fucked design wise. We can say goodbye to anything stylish, understated or subtle. It's getting worse already - look at the bling on a lot of European designs and its explanation that it is for the Chinese market.

I think, "Opinion: Maybach's SUV concept reminds us how different Chinese tastes are" as the sign-off says it all. Can't blame Mercedes - if this is what it takes to get high value sales in that market, well done for appreciating what the customers want and producing it for them.

Only someone with an inferiority complex would feel the need to shoehorn a term like Ultimate Luxury into a title. They won't be toppling Rolls or Bentley any time soon...
