Picked up my rental car today for the next day or 2. I didn’t get to choose the car or size. When it said “Mitsubishi Mirage or similar” I hoped to get the Mitsubishi, as I can’t remember the last time I drove one of any sort. Didn’t get one, but got an Accent. It’s very basic. The engine eventually gets to 70mph but hasn’t got difficulty staying there. No Bluetooth but has an aux input, and even worse, no cruise control. I’m driving about 500 miles tomorrow and most of it will be on interstates at 70+ mph. It feels much faster at 70 than my car, but mine is much taller. Anyway, I may have a better report after a longer drive.
Here’s hoping that the next days travelling will go smoothly...

It’s the most economical car I’ve driven in the USA in the past few years. The interior is all hard plastic, even the dashboard. It surprised me at how easily it held 80 and crept to 90 when I wasn’t watching. I did 540 miles in it in a day of bumper to bumper and then interstate and it coped ok. Some sort of 4 pot engine that wasn’t pleasant to listen to. The worst part was the driving position. I couldn’t get my legs comfortable and it may have been to do with the lack of upper leg support on the seat. I experienced this before in a Santa Fe and it was very uncomfortable.
As an aside, I was at the Tesla hq and they have some nice machinery out the back, they also have valet parking for everyone as they are so short of space there!

I've had a few Mitsubishi Mirages as loan cars. They were actually better then I expected them to be. The auto one I had would be a good city run about, but as a 500 mile interstate car, I don't think so...

I drove a few as the garage I worked for was a Mitsi dealer and they were the courtesy cars, didn't think there was anything wrong with them, they were no worse than the Skoda Citigo cars our related bodyshop had.

Indeed. FB (god rest his forum soul) used to say they were terrible. But they were not that bad by a long way.
