desirability is off the scale here. One minor styling detail stands out and bugs me though, and that's the 'droopy' outer edge of the rear light clusters, how they have made the lights into a sideways T-shape, I don't like that, but wouldn't put me off having one. Niceeeee

I've always thought that the A6 was the best looking of the mainstream Audis and that doesn't change with this iteration. Their new badging system is wank, though! What does that say on the back? 55 TFSI? What a loada toss.

Proves my insistence that any medium to large car is better looking as an estate.
Although I'd like to see what a boggo model looks like on shirt button wheels.

Looks identical to my colleague's 13 plate one. Job done Audi.

Predictability is off the scale here

What exactly is 55TFSI?! I presume that it isn't 5.5 V8. 2.0 3 pot hybrid with 4 turbos?

It doesn’t mean a lot, just that it’s a petrol with a power waiting whatever range makes it a 55. Another reason, not that you need one, to get rid of the badges.

CAR mag sort of explained the 2 numbers when they covered the launch of one of the Audis and its utterly pointless marketing drivel that has clearly been conjured up to try to justify a budget.
The 2 numbers indicate a range of power output so there will (probably) be a 45 and a 65 in there somewhere I'm guessing. It's arbitrary though as I don't remember the least powerful being a 05 or 15!
The 55 has no correlation to whatever the out put is, e.g. it's not 10% of the approx. output, the true figure might be, say, 250BHP for example. Best advice is just to ignore it.

I assume it's just a ranking exercise, much like how the BMW and Mercs do it now, in that 340i is 'bigger' than 330i but is not an indication of engine capacity in any way.

Badging aside it I like it a lot.

I like the RS type wing flaring which adds a lot to the car's stance. The old Q5 used to have that at the rear and it was really pleasing to the eye when you saw it from the right angle.
A big improvement which might give BMW a few problems with buyers not exactly blown away by the new 5 series looks. Mercedes might also lament making the new E Class such an anonymous looking car.

The new 7 series is good looking. Saw one the other day. Seemed quite compact, too, as it wasn't a LWB jobbie.
eta: from the rear anyway...

Not a fan of the later Audi, they used to be very elegant, now not so much.

Looks identical to my colleague's 13 plate one. Job done Audi. Maybe it is? Audi can buy back all the 3 year old cars just coming off company fleets, badge them up as new cars and no one would notice. Do wonders for the residuals of the older cars too!

What does that say on the back? 55 TFSI? What a loada toss. Agreed on both counts, massive grille excepted. The bloody grille just seems to get bigger and more "out of my way pleb" with every iteration. I've modded it again - looks much better, way more understated as Audi's used to be. That's better >
