No surprise if I say I like this? After the F-Type with it awful bolt on rear wing, I did fear that the SVR badge might become the chav end of the market. But to my eyes this looks like a more beefy and breathed over F-Pace. What a fast Jag "R" ought to be - no tacky carbon fibre, no tacky wings, no daft body add ons, just subtle additions. I'm not sure about the quilted seats, but you can't have everything. They'll probably look OK in all black. And I see the pistol gear lever makes an appearance instead of the rotary dial. www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/motor-shows-new-york-motor-show/542bhp-jaguar-f-pace-svr-squares-porsche-macan-turbo

Not in the least bit surprised!!
I’m much more surprised that I do. I agree with you about the styling, it’s so much better for not being overdone but I fear it will sound terrible when it should sound amazing and I do have an issue with the interior (in general, not the SVR)

The engineer describes it as NASCAR .... probably about right (in a good way)

The F-Pace is my guilty pleasure, and the SVR is even more so. Sounding like a NASCAR machine sounds like a dream to me. If I had to have an SUV.....

Very nice piece of work with the body mods - real shame it's not the XF that's had the treatment.
I can also see some soft grain leather upgrades in place of the standard pleather and it looks like the instrument binnacle topper is now wrapped. Every little helps

I really like that and an interesting engine mu make it a right laugh.
I've been driving a Macan S for the last few days as my cars been in the dealer to fix a dodgy speaker. Got to say I've been mega impressed. It rides like an old school Merc in the way it glides over potholes and yet its a genuine laugh to push hard and really comes alive like the best hot hatch. The only downside has been the PDK gearbox which is a bit jerky around town which is ok in a Cayman or 911 but should be smoother in an SUV. Probably be even better with the ZF 8 speed. I'm trying to work out how I can afford one to replace the 3 series.

A friend of mine has a Macan Turbo, and aside from the fact that it doesn't really sound like I feel a Porsche should, it's really a jolly desirable bit of kit. Goes like the wind.

At last! I have seen reviews, like this one:
That rate the existing F Pace V6S as a better drive than the Macan GTS. This one has a pretty serious benefit from having a proper big V8 in it - somehow they suit this sort of car very well.
If it sounds more like the F Type R (one passed me cycling the other day, it sounded incredible, wonderfully bassy V8 and very WW2 fighter plane) than the SVR then it will be a very desirable bit of kit. I would very happily drive one day to day if I lived in the proper countryside, and also had something tasty like a 6 pot Cayman or Boxster to play with... If it depreciates anything like the ML63AMG did, it could be tempting in a few years....
