Jag E-pace S d180. Not sure what spec it is, but it came with a bunch of 'launch spec' extras - upgraded leather & heated seats all round, heated steering wheel, better stereo Not bad, ride is pretty good (not surprising with those balloon tyres) and the sat nav etc is nothing like what the magazines say. I'd say it was quicker and easier to use than my e-class'.

At the risk of being the bastard who says something less than welcoming, there's a hell of a lot of black plastic over the wheelarches and floorline - rather undoes the desired premium effect for me. I still hope he loves it!

I still hope he loves it! Not to mention the shirt button (although they're probably at least 18s) wheels!
Nice otherwise though, preferable to an overstyled Merc GLE or BMW X?

I still hope he loves it! That must be a platform thing in some way - as the Evoque and Disco Sport that use the same platform also have the plastic showing above the wheel arches and it does not seem to do them any damage in the market. I hope he likes it. Great colour. I've yet to see an E-Pace on the road and I'd like to get a closer look at one.

I think it looks fine, black plastic is part of the suv thing or am I just old now?

I can see why the abundance of black plastic might make it look a bit less premium but one I see regularly in Horsham station car park doesn’t look at all the worse for it. I don’t think the pictures do justice to how much better looking the plastic is than similar body plastics on cheaper suv’s. The wheels do look small but when you have to live with the car I think it’s preferable to have more rubber and a better ride than to worry about whether an onlooker refers to them as shirt-buttons!

That looks smart. I don’t mind the plastic bits.

That looks smart. I don’t mind the plastic bits. Me neither - I like the plastic trim around the wheel arches on these sort of vehicles as it provides good protection to the edges. Good-looking car that.

I hope he enjoys it but sorry but I really don't like that colour, especially with the black trim, that to me doesn't look premium at all, it's squat and tall.

Squat length ways, especially over the rear wheels but taller than a regular hatch. I just think this looks wrong, it's not well proportioned

I think that looks pretty good and with all the launch spec extras it will be a comfortable place to be. I've just had a couple of fliers in about 0% finance on Jaguar/Landrover products bought and registered this week so there could be some very attractive PCP deals going.

Squat in length? How does that even work? Taller than a regular hatch? It's an SUV. Not well proportioned? Er, see above; I think you're starting from a different point from everyone else with regard to what proportions are.

The first pics makes it look ill proportioned and squashed. Contrast of a long(ish) bonnet, decent length wheelbase and then a stubby rear and the wide curve over the rear arches gives it a squat appearance. The F-Pace is much more successful though. Sorry but i just don't like that at all
