I saw Putin won his latest election. Didn’t see that coming... Bit of a shock that, eh?

I see Trump has kicked out 60 Russian "diplomats".

It seems that Putins Russia is becoming more isolated. Not a good state of affairs....

It’s good to see the UK’s stance being supported globally, but it does worry me that they must know some serious things that we don’t (yet) in order to get that support.

Do you think there's any coincidence that all this has blown up since Racing announced his departure from his "legal firm" who he manned the Moscow desk for?

I assume this is one of those situations where our intelligence/security services know exactly who is responsible but will absolutely not publish it because that will give away some sources or, at the least, techniques for intelligence gathering.
Which seems appropriate.

How flattering! But no, being a finance lawyer is not a credible cover for being a spy - there's no spare time available in which to do any spying! I have to say being a gentleman of lee-zhur for a few weeks is a most pleasant change. Back on topic, having now had a chance to catch up with a few Russian friends, they all shared a common (if perhaps incoherent) view: (a) the British are overreacting and using this as an excuse to be nasty to Russia and (b) of course it was the Kremlin who is responsible!
