I get the feeling that anything Hybrid or electric is going to maintain a significant price premium for quite a while until they become mainstream. What's the i-Pace going to cost? £80K? £50K for a 6mth old M4 or an year old C63 seems like a bargain by comparison.

But we'll all be made to either drive them or take public transport if Corbyn's champagne socialists take power.

But we'll all be made to either drive them or take public transport if Corbyn's champagne socialists take power. If he gets in that might be the least of our troubles. However Tory infighting and back stabbing might just let JC slip through the door of No10. I can't see what good dredging up JC's old Stasi file is going to do other than give him more credibility with those that think his way of thinking is reasonable.

But we'll all be made to either drive them or take public transport if Corbyn's champagne socialists take power. We'll be lucky if we are allowed hybrids. After all, ownership (or exclusive use) of anything is only achievable by theft against the poor and oppressed. The middle classes must be brought to heal. Even the stupid as shit ones that think Corbyn is the answer to whatever moronic questions inhabit their empty spaces where brains ought to be. But re the OP, according to Drive the deal, you can get £5k of the £38k list price of a Cooper S John Cooper Works Hybrid. So £39k for a pre-registered one does seem "rather" optimistic.

So a Mini qualifies for the premium car rate of tax. Even more daft is that the discounted one would, too thanks to a list over the £40k threshold.

It's fine having a laugh about it but we all know that in the cold, harsh light of day a policy like this would be so unpopular that they'd never actually implement it - the lure of being in power always seems to trump any far-out idealism (unless you're a hard Brexit Tory perhaps).

I genuinely think here that the far-out idealism trumps being in power. Because they only want power in order to impose their ideology on a population otherwise not terribly keen on it.
