I have no idea why, at those prices, anyone would buy anything this ugly when there are Range Rovers about. It's not like Mercedes can point to reliability like Toyota and Lexus can with the Land Cruiser/GX.

Don't misunderstand me: I believe the G-Wagen to be the most useable car in the world, more so than the Landrover on grounds of comfort! It's just that they won't often be bought for the kind of things in the link.

You've got to hand it to Merc and Jeep. They both keep banging out updated versions of their ladder chassis favourites and people keep on buying them. In the G-wagons case for stupefying amounts of money.

It's just that they won't often be bought for the kind of things in the link. If I was going anywhere truly inhospitable like the Outback I’d leave the G Wagen at home and take the Landcruiser.
