Are you a 'must have it time for Christmas person?' All the TV ads that advertise sofas, TVs and other home stuff that say, 'order now and get it before Christmas' baffle me (and Mrs L) - Christmas one day - if we were getting a new sofa we couldn't care less if it's delivered on the 23rd or 28th of December.
We had our bathroom redone a few years back and it was October when we asked the guy to do it - he came round to our house very nervously in November and was very apologetic that he wouldn't be able to get it done in time for Christmas and even more relieved when I say, "that's OK, I don't give a fuck whether it's done in December or January." Clearly a lot of people get very excited about having things done in time for Christmas.
How about you?

On the basis that the kids and grand-kids usually descend on us over Christmas and the New Year, I prefer to leave anything like the above until the New Year so that it doesn't get wrecked within a few days !

It's just a random date, no pressure to have stuff done by then (apart from buying presents, I suppose!)

I really could not care less. All the promotions folk create a perceived need which they then have to tell us about in case we do not know we need it too. A chicken and egg nogg situation mixed up with a ten year old calendar. Or something.

Nah, I don't really care either.

Normally not, unless it was something like a Christmas tree! Last year though I did insist on having the 440i delivered by mid-December because I wanted to do our annual trip to Italy in it.

Our plumbers won't take on any bathroom refurbs after Nov incase there are problems and people are left without facilities over Xmas.

I generally insist on my flights before Christmas and the hire car. Nothing else though.
