It had its 3rd birthday yesterday. Not much to say that hasn’t already been said (you’ll be pleased to know), it’s still superb and looks and feels pretty much like new. Made no sense to change it, so I decided to keep it another year. No issues at all other than the finish deteriorating on the steering wheel, which was replaced without any hassle.
I filled it up this morning and it has done 29,559 miles in the last 12 months and 81,517 miles in total.
It’s interesting (to me) to look back at the running cost, excluding finance/depreciation because there is no point in upsetting myself....
Fuel Cost - £10,775 MPG - 38.8 (40.2 in last year) Servicing/Brakes - £1,258 (service pack covered first 2 services) Tyres - £1,265 (thanks to 2 punctures) Insurance - £2,149 Warranty - £915
Insurance has gone up significantly, £444 / £546 / £634 / £795. Robbing gits.
Most mileage between fill ups was 700.9 and best mpg was 47.4 with the worst 33.4.
Fingers crossed for a trouble free 12 months.

They are nice places to be. I also think the F11 design is particularly well resolved from all angles to the extent that most other family wagons don't even make me glance their way.
I've decided that when the time comes that Panamera ST is top of the list to replace but there's no hurry either financially or because the car is a concern - I said four years so 2y5mo to go, which will be a pleasurable period of ownership no matter what.
I'm sure your next year will cause no issues of great extent.

I'd say that's low mileage for a big diesel so wouldn't expect you to have any issues on the engine or drivetrain front. Have you had to get any suspension bits done yet though?

Shouldn’t be any problems, but the Passat gearbox went at 105k and the Turbo failed on the 520d at a similar mileage so I’m hoping I don’t get a hat trick! No, I’ve not needed anything done outside of normal servicing.

Over 81k already? Wow, time flies. Glad it is performing as well now as when it was new. Out of interest, what would the sale price be like at 3 years/80k miles?

The running costs aren't bad, are they? I've certainly never got 33.4mg It does look like you are getting stiffed on insurance, but I guess that's mileage-related - I'm not over 80k yet. Do you have any points?
Glad you're still enjoying it.

No, not too bad at all. I had to try really hard to get down to 33.4mpg!
I don’t understand the insurance costs. The mileage has remained the same, I did get 3 points early 2016, but it’s still gone up a lot. When I was going through the renewal process I put a couple of other options in to see the difference, £90k worth of 740d was slightly cheaper and there was a fairly significant saving with an F-Pace/E43/Macan/C63. An M3 Competition Pack was 20% less (so it’s not just a BMW issue) and even a FF Range Rover wasn’t much more.. Not my shortlist, just some different options out of interest. It will help with the man maths at change time....

That’s excellent economy for the performance. Glad it still has the ability to keep you happy.

I think the economy/performance mix is near unbeatable. I had a blast up to Gleneagles this week avoiding the motorway and despite passing everything in front and enjoying the acceleration, I still averaged just over 40mpg for the journey.

It’s the range as well, which is really important to me, 550-600 miles without pushing it.

I fill up every other week, so suspect I'd loathe garage forecourts if I did 30k p.a.
The insurance angle is very strange.

I’ve filled up twice this week and will need to do so again on Sunday, which is why it’s important. I loathe garage forecourts.
The insurance is puzzling. Just remembered that I put an Alpina D5 Estate in and that was about 35% less.

Fag packet maths suggest that's been a busy week, then?
(If I did 30,000 at 300 or so per tank, that'd be 100 fill-ups or just under two per week. You obviously get rather more per tankful.)

More a timing thing, but I’ve done about 500 miles in 4 days and will do another 500 by Sunday. Weeks with a kids weekend in them drive the miles up, as it’s 200 miles on the Friday evening and the same again on Sunday.

From £58 to £112 of which a significant portion was apparently the post code change.

£444 to £795 is a 79% increase over 3 years! I live in high risk postcode - and can't recall those level of increases -although one has to hunt out deep and hard and break my balls for a quote close to previous
