There’s a BBC thing today showing how build up your area is and compares it to the rest of the UK. Here’s mine: interested to know where the farms of Sutton are! Here’s a link: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41901294

The other end of the spectrum:

The main reason we chose the area we live in was that it’s really close to civilisation but surrounded by nice countryside.

We have it the right way around here, too:

I think it’s too generalised.

It appears County Durham is almost "average UK". My own stats also indicate why I do so few car miles: if I did my commute by car at the time I usually do it on a Wednesday the first mile and a half could take an hour for no reason other than weight of traffic.

My own stats also indicate why I do so few car miles: if I did my commute by car at the time I usually do it on a Wednesday the first mile and a half could take an hour for no reason other than weight of traffic. If I take the B-road route, my 17 mile journey takes between 25 and 30 minutes. The alternative C-road / A-road 20 mile version takes a similar amount of time. Some mornings (leave home at 07:25) I have no more than one or two other vehicles infront of me at all on any part of the journey. The afternoon return takes longer, especially if I go through Moreton-in-Marsh, where I might be held up for a minute or two.

It certainly is rather generalised. A town about 25 miles away skews mine, but completely ignores the city that's rather nearer...

Co. Durham is probably like that as a whole, but it is a huge county and the small part that I occupy doesn't resemble the rest of it.

Mine appears to be distorted slightly by having a large former air base that qualifies as built on but isn't town or city.

I'm Horsham and it's showing 6, 4, 83, 7. That's best I can do on my iPad.

It does seem to be very generalised based on borough council areas. The main town in my area badly skews the result whereas the map shows just how green it is.

No surprises - Shropshire is not built up and is very farmland rich. This was interesting in the main article -land use by UK country. Shows how empty Scotland is!
