The C Max - at 3.5 years and 30k miles - finally needed new tyres all round, and new front pads at the same time, so I booked it into Micheldever tyres, just up the road from here.
Blimey do tyres cost now - to replace the same Conti Sport Contact 3's on the car would have been £133 a corner (17"), but I went for the new "plus" version of the Michelin Cross Climates, which I have been intending to go for for a while, they were £150 a corner. For a non-performance car they seem to be a great compromise, and so far are miles quieter than the worn Conti 3's, which seemed pretty average and became very noisy when worn. Otherwise, in the dry mild days following, they feel no different really, which compared to a quite high performance summer tyre is good news.
We will probably have another mild winter, but - with my winters still on 6+mm of tread and going on later this month - if it does snow, we will be mobile in both cars!

I put CC+ on the Captur last month. Very quiet. Feel OK (on a car with no steering feel). The prices of CC+ have been climbing steadily as we head towards winter.

As for winter tyres I'm hanging on a bit longer yet before I put mine on.

I rebooted both cars around this time last year. Bridgestone on one and BFGoodriches on the other. Both sets are rated for mud and snow which is great, considering we often go to the snow in the mountains. Neither car is built for the twisties so the tyres are more than adequate for all we need.

As for winter tyres I'm hanging on a bit longer yet before I put mine on. In the cold and damp of the last few days the F1s have been great. Only once the forecast is dire will I bother with the winters. I'm seriously considering flogging them but probably won't.
