I had an 'invitation' to a health screening with "Last few places remaining", supposed to make me go for it I suppose. A quick google search suggests they are anything but kosha.
How a company can get away with this type of scare mongering when we can all get a free health check from our gp's is beyond me, that they want to charge £129 for the priveledge of bending over a desk and saying please give it the full cucumber, extra hot chilli sauce and barbed wire on the side.
Without their being an awful lot of muggins types I cannot see how these scrotes could even manage funding to operate. It grates my cheese, really.

In my experience a health check from your GP is cursory at best, the equivalent of a kick of the tyres and rock of the suspension, as opposed to a full MOT.

I have several clients who go for a full check up at a private hospital every year or two. It costs between £300 and £500 but I know of at least one case where they found things early which were then treated but if otherwise left, could have been life threatening or ending.
I think the sensible approach is that if you feel you need an "MOT" you go to a recognised hospital.
As Bob said, the checks by your GP or practice nurse are fairly cursory - blood pressure check, a brief chat about lifestyle etc, a blood sample which is checked for cholesterol and diabetes and that's it.
