I missed all the 1's and 12345 on the Golf as the wife was driving it when those milestones were reached. I'm homing in on all the 2's though.

I'm about a tank and a half awy from 140000. What did it start out at when you bought it, out of interest?
Apart from a few hundred miles Herself did when I was in hospital all those years ago (2009 - doesn't time fly when you're having no cancer!!) all of these 110000 miles were done by me!

126k on when I bought it almost exactly a year ago. And it spent 3 weeks off the road whilst I repaired the head gasket. I'm hoping it reaches 140k before the first anniversary, just because.

My last one was 50105, which I missed.
Not long to wait until 50205 though.

I'm not too far away from 98765 in the silver Cayman. The M3's next big one will be 66666...

Well, this didn't take much planning in the same way others have/will, but quite satisfying all the same. it'll be another 11K or so til the next one now.

With a bit better forward thinking (aka planning!) this could have been better; still fairly pleased with it in a very childish way! (Photo taken while stopped [legally] on the on-slip from Tebay services!)

I thought that there was a thread on here for this, but I can't find it, so.... seems like it's catching. I woke up this morning to find younger daughter had sent me this last night from her 3 1/2 year old A1:

Think it's called "miles and miles" but thanks for remembering the title of the thread I started on the last place! I keep finding that I reach these milestones whilst on a motorway or so where else where stopping would be either dangerous or mightily inconvenient for other motorists so I tend to miss them.

Both of our cars are due to hit a round number shortly. Mine's a few miles short of 7k and the wife's is a few miles short of 16k (and will reach its 4th birthday at the end of the month).

'Miles and miles (and, possibly, miles!)' was what I called it I think. Yours (which I'd forgotten, if I ever actually knew ) was 'All the sevens . . .' IIRC. Whatever we call it, hoping to see many more posts here, so get counting guys!

I'm disappointed that Chris didn't have the trip at 999.9 as well. Maybe he was distracted by a bucket and sponge at the critical moment?

Read again - it was younger daughter's car and she sent me the piccy. It just happened that the mileage was on 9999 when she got home that day, she's not into things like re-setting the trip meter etc... was "lucky" that she even noticed the 9999 TBH ! That the date was 10/10 was pure luck too.......
