I'm not a lover of it but then I can't remember ever having it. I've always just avoided it and happy to trust my judgement.

Brilliant advert, horrific stuff. Lovers of Marmite just can't understand how foul the taste is to haters.

Along with Heinz beans on toast (note: brand specific!) Marmite is clearly the food of the gods.
There are, however, only two correct applications: On toast which has melted the butter already; on bread where the butter and Marmite mix to make a beige, peanut buttery spread. Both cases open only (i.e. no slice on top)

I taste other beans when eating a Friday Fry-up so I acknowledge some other types of religion beans exist but I only tolerate them as opposed to converting.

Is it possible to be just ambivalent? I'll eat it but I don't go out of my way to love it.
Great advert. Very clever.

Hilarious.
I am from a family of Marmite-lovers: I, my father, my mother and both my sisters all adore Marmite. Even my stepmother, who is German, loves it.
On the other hand, my brother in law absolutely loathes the stuff and my wife isn't a fan either. However, I'm not actually sure whether she's ever tried it properly (foreigners have a mildly hilarious tendency to heap a great dollop of it on as if it were Nutella, which is not the best way to have your first taste) or whether she just on principle thinks it's a disgusting British abomination (like baked beans).

Absolutely love baked beans but have never got the fuss with Heinz, I always found the sauce a bit watery, Sainsbury's are the best for me, I also quite like the Aldi ones.

I've just re-familiarised myself with the stuff which my other half seems to like. On opening the lid, the stench was enough to remind me what a satanic substance it is and was swiftly thrown to the back of the cupboard.

I agree with BB's use cases and would add another: hot crumpets, melted butter or spread, strong cream cheese, top with marmite and ingest immediately.

Oooh no, I couldn't stomach marmite on hot crumpets..... has to be butter and maybe a little jam

Jam? On a crumpet?? Only [too much] butter on crumpets is acceptable. What kind of schools did you lot fag at to learn some of these horrible dishes?

Great stuff but not too often. enough salt for a years ration. Definitely on toast once the butter has melted. Beans variety does not matter, add a little tomato paste and worcestershire sauce to all of them, much nicer. Basil goes with most tomato based foods but not sure about Sybil.

Marmite, like mushrooms, is the food of Satan.
HBOT is manna from heaven, preferably spiced up a little though, and on good, thick wholemeal.

I've not tried Marmite for a very ling time and as that is the case, I suspect I wasn't keen. I do like twiglets though.
I can't stand the texture of beans of any variety. My tomato based snack on toast consists of spaghetti hoops!

That would be because when brother and I were at school, when we got home one of the things we had for tea could be crumpets, and there was often a bottle of jam on the table as well as the butter dish etc, so it seemed natural to try jam on the crumpets.
