I like it, far more exciting than a Golf Gti.

My Dad's dress sense is more exciting than a Golf R.
I'm sure it'll be a phenomenally quick thing, but it does nothing for me as an old skool hot hatch lover. 5 doors and flappy paddle gearboxes may well be the future, but not for those of us who like them analogue. Those foglights are unforgivable, too.

Hopefully they rediscovered steering feel after totally forgetting what it was with the Clio RS.

Of course, the all important thing for this car is:
How quickly will it lap the Nurburgonionringburgerkingstingring? And will it give them sufficient willy waving powers over the competition?

I think this car's main issue will be the fact that they've already said there's a more powerful Trophy version coming out next year. All the Renaultsport fans will wait for that one.

Is this not a GTi competitor rather than Golf R with the Trophy filling that role.
Its a hard crowd to please here, flared arches, sports or touring chassis, RWS. Sounds great to me. A bit chintzy in places but what isn't now.

I like it. It looks different enough to the std car without being too in your face and performance and equipment are good for a £30k price tag.
There's a fair chance we'll be in the market for a hot hatch next year, will be interesting to try some of the latest options.

I followed my first new Megane this morning. What the hell were they thinking of when they signed off the rear lights? They look like a Frenchman's moustache.

Not too hideous but I'm not keen on the lower headlight/DRL sweep design. It'll make a change from seeing so many Golf Rs (as long as Renault get the lease pricing right, of course)

I am genuinely curious to try one of these. The previous Megane RSes were fairly focused weapons and this looks quite a lot different.

I quite like it, but the issue with Renaultsport is that these cars are always improved throughout their lifecycles. It seems like they hold a bit back every time, rather than making it as good as it could be. They say they're not gonna go for the 'ring willy waving lap until the Trophy model is released.

Panamera and hot hatch, 911 and hot hatch, two hot hatches?

Not sure yet, have some quite different combinations, so will have to try a few things to figure out the best one. My mileage has to be a consideration as does comfort, because I do a large proportion of my driving on motorways / dual carriageways. The other restriction is that Lindsay needs to have a 4-5 door car for any business trips in order to continue to receive her car allowance. We're managing at the moment and I'm getting more Boxster time, which is a good thing, but there will be times when it won't work. Without that restriction it's very likely it would have been a 911 and hot hatch.
A Panamera Sport Turismo would be great, but a new one in the spec I'd want would be double what I'm paying a month now (and more than a 911 GTS!) which is beyond my man maths and other things would have to give.

Looks good, not sure on the 4ws, I've driven a Megane with 4ws and it is odd so it'll be interesting to see how it is implemented on the RS and whether it is a positive or negative addition.
I'm unlikely to get a chance to ever drive one, unless there is a new car launch around the corner and they have an RS there but I'm pretty sure there are no new imminent model launches and I can't see Renault having a dedicated dealer launch for the RS, apart from the dedicated RS dealers.
We won't be getting one as a demo; TBH I'm glad as having an RS of any persuasion as a demo, just attracts idiots and test pilots.

Kinda the same as VW do with the GTI when you consider the limited edition versions or the 10BHP (wow!) upgrade packs?
