It's even taller!

I like it. Slightly taller ride height, chunkier tyres and the fittings at each end make a huge difference to the overall look of the vehicle. Bit silly to put the 5.0 supercharged V8 in it - those SVX visual mods with the standard range of engines wold make a lot of sense and I suspect sell really well. Standard And it look much chunkier generally.

Now, that's much more like it. My type of vehicle. Not too much brash but enough styling tweaks. Love the 2 mini collapsed suns on the roof. Lovely

I like it, not so keen on the wheels but it's a lot of fun. What the hell is wrong with PG though???: Bit silly to put the 5.0 supercharged V8 in it

You will be unsurprised to hear that I think it is horrible. "Lipstick on a pig" springs to mind.

I followed a new Disco again yesterday and they just refuse to get any better looking. They just remind me of the updated London buses in how tall and thin they are.

Now I'm feeling better, let me say that I hope the V8 is the same 540+ hp unit as in the RR Sport SVR. Not your piffling 500hp job that's, frankly, barely adequate these days in my XFR.

Slightly off topic, or maybe not as they're the same price, but details are available for the new Cayenne Turbo and despite only having 550hp ish, rather than 600, which is the norm now at that level, it manages to get from 0-60 in 3.9secs. Clearly traction and electronics help, but even so, that's quick for big heavy 4x4.
As for the SVX, I'm with Simon, they've somehow managed to make an ugly car look even uglier.... SVX should come up with a new tailgate, they'd make more money.

Not for me. Given the size of the thing you'd have to be eight foot tall just to open the boot.

Take something awful and add awfulness to it.
It'll be a hit with X6 owners trying to get something different.

Does it have Citroen-style up and downy suspension because it's a lot lower in the promo shots than in real life?

If they could just modify that rear end it would make so much difference to the looks. I'm still not keen on the side profile either and that SVX makes it look even more top heavy.

I really like the Discovery, however I'm not keen on this one.

Jerry McGovern says that dealers are putting the wrong plate on the Discovery, apparently it was designed for a slimmer plate without the blue strip. It's a slight improvement, but only slight, the real problem is Gerry's design!

No, a large space needs a large plate to help fill it.... I've gone for a previous-shape XJ8 plate for the rear of the Kuga, just like I had on the |C_Max but without the Euro stars seeing as we should be out soon.....

It's a design fault... previous versions have tailgatesthat were designed assymetrically. The only thing not symmetrical about the latest tailgate is the area for the rear plate. If the glass and metalwork also had a "step" then the offset plate idea would possibly work. As it stands, it just looks crap

Is that one of those "spot the difference" trick photos?
Designed for plates without the blue strip? So it's a Brexit design? Explains why it's shit!

Designed for plates without the blue strip? So it's a Brexit design? Not just no blue strip/stars on the right-hand photo, but it's a smaller sized plate too. The plain plate is the "standard" size UK plate, same size as the front plate. The left-hand photo has not just the blue strip with stars, but it is a physically bigger plate too.

I don't mind the new Discovery, it's not as good a piece of design as the last one but it's ok. The back end is not that successful but the plate makes no difference at all. Gerry McGovern is a well know tosser.
