If anyone's thinking of going abroad this autumn and rentinga car, I note that Avis has a sale on and has some cracking low prices.
I've just booked flights with BA to Milan for a long w/end in Piemonte in November. BA has a deal with Avis, so it's cost-effective to buy the flights and car hire together,and the long and short of is that I have paid just £10 forthree days' hire of a "Class F Intermediate Medium", advertised as being a "Jeep Renegade or similar" but illustrated confusingly with a picture of a Giulietta… As I am enrolled in Avis' Preferred programme (which is free), I should also get a free upgrade to the next class up.
So that's basically free hire of what should be a half-decent car.
