I can't believe somebody bought this gorgeous machine new and has owned it for nearly 14 years yet put just 740 miles on the clock. collectingcars.com/for-sale/2010-mercedes-benz-sls-amg-10Perhaps they've been ill? Perhaps they just had a policy of never taking it out in the rain and eventually realised that, in Auchterarder they might wait forever for dry roads...? Whatever the answer, what a shame. If I had a car like this, I'd be driving it everywhere.

An acquaintance of mine has an extensive garage of supercars. F40, Carrera GT type of stuff - those don't get driven as they are his pension fund.
I think the temptation would be too much for me.

Oi! It's not that wet in this area. If you'd said Fort William I might've agreed. I find it mildly fascinating to look through ads for supercars and marvel at just how many have tiny mileages. www.williamloughran.co.uk/stock/I can't remember who the dealer was but in the latest Classic & Sportscar there's a (lets say) 10 year old 911 GT3 that's done 10 miles per year but its stated it has a full dealer history

It's covered 760 miles and needed warranty work!
"The seller notes that during ownership the following works were carried out under warranty within the Mercedes-Benz dealer network: driver and passenger airbags have been replaced, a protective brake hose has been fitted, the rear diffuser screws have been replaced, and a battery fault was rectified, with all work being performed by Mercedes-Benz main dealers. "

The guy with the Carrera GT was pissed off as it failed it's MOT (he trailers it each year to get tested) on a ball joint boot. Porsche won't sell just a ball joint boot so it needed a wishbone at £3k plus labour.

That is a beautiful car and being a Mercedes it's even rarer to see a cream interior with a black steering wheel. Maybe the guy and more likely his wife prefer the ease of jumping in to his FFRR every day and the SLS might also be his pension which he now needs to draw down on.

With a car like that the chances are the wife is the one who is most able to get in and out with far more ease..... .... trophy wife number 3

Was there not a problem with the airbags from a certain manufacturer for a while - fragments of metal could explode out of the airbag when it went off, killing the driver. There was a large recall for these.
