Agreed. Unlike a lot of recent electric offerings, it looks like some effort has been made to make this an appealing car, rather than just anodyne transport.

If its one thing we get from Electric its the effort in design the manufacturers are making. Not all are successful but this certainly is, Not sure I'd want to spend 30K on an electric small Renault though. The Alpine version will be interesting as long as they keep the clean design and don't make it look like its escaped from the pages of Max Power.

Looks a really great design. I love that the rear door handles are hidden and that the door shut line is a long way back above the wheel arch. So if you squint a bit, you can almost believe that it is a 3-door.

Have you tried using these hidden handles on a Micra or Clio? They're absolutely awful - your hand is at the wrong angle by 90 degrees and they're an awkward height.
Otherwise the design looks good, so much nicer than the majority of other electric cars so far.

It's a great looking car with plenty of cues from the R5. I hope it is a real success but a lot of that is dependant on the charging network being rolled out quickly at reasonable cost. Another Taycan owing client has given it to his wife while he uses her Cayenne because he kept getting stuck looking for chargers in rural Scotland when out and about. Unfortunately most of them are 7Kwh which is a charge rate of c20 miles per hour - completely and utterly useless for someone trying to use it for business. He tried to trade it in to Porsche initially to buy a Macan petrol but after 9 months of ownership he was going to have to take a bath of over £30K so decided to keep it in the family.

If it was a bit faster and if leasing costs were OK (still too early to buy an EV for me), I'd go and take a closer look - however I think both those 'ifs' won't be overcome.
