I don’t actually have any problems with the combo. I quite like these Matt grey finishes.

Not a fan of Matt but I quite like the interior colour to be fair. I don't mind the SL either but can't really understand its existence given the GT exists.

Is that interior colour aubergine? I am sure they pedalled that in the CLS a few years ago.
In any case the new SL is so grossly overpriced that Racing is right - only those with so much money they don't know what to do with it, would buy one of these in the first place. Eastern Mercedes were offering all sorts of low interest rates and other incentives to try to move an SL43 they had which was priced well over £125K - for a 4 cylinder car!!!
I read somewhere that Mercedes have basically made almost all the options and colours no cost options now to try to gain interest.

I'm sure I read at its launch that the SL had been created to allow platform sharing with the GT, i.e. if the SL didn't exist they wouldnt've been able to do the GT.

I'd probably prefer a nice saddle brown.

I was going to refer to it as "dusky plum" but not after you talked about seeing it in the flesh....

I don’t mind the SL, but that’s not a colour scheme I’d go for and it’s massively over priced, £110k and upwards for a 4 pot…..AMG tax gone mad!
The market agrees, the 43 is down in the £70k’s already, the 55 starts at £120k vs a list price of £150k and both will continue to drop.

Mercedes have also returned to their stupid interior colour schemes where cream leather also means cream carpets, dash and steering wheel. Or you can have coal mine black for everything. Tasteless to boring with nothing interesting in between.
