My bil and sister are looking to change their Kuga for something that will carry 7. They don’t want an mpv, despite them having 2 teenagers and 2 foster kids who are under 8 years old. I’ve been telling them to get an S-Max or something similar- VW, Toyota, Kia, whatever, but they don’t want a mob because they don’t like the image of them. Yesterday they looked at a car with my dad and he really likes it, it drives well but is more fiesta sized according to him, and is an estate, not a mpv. They are thinking of getting a roof box for longer trips. They have the weekend to think about the car, while it’s not bad, I think they’re making the wrong decision. Any suggestions for a decent 7 seater appreciated, especially one that’s a better option than a white 218d. www.carzone.ie/used-cars/bmw/2-series/fpa/202307219902485?journey=Search

The Gran Tourer is one of the few non-SUV 7-seaters left although I believe that BMW stopped making them when the slightly smaller version was facelifted recently. Not sure if it's as big as an S-Max (which I believe is also no longer made)

They’ve looked at the Santa Fe and thought it was too big. They seem to be more interested in the image of it than the practicality of it. The X5 I had was a 7 seater and a cracking car to own. They’ll be absolutely cramped in the 218 but they don’t want to think about that, and the boot will be tiny and not able to carry the buggy for the baby, if the rest of the seats are in use. Audi might be a good suggestion, I’ll pass it on.
