2.5 degrees this morning and ice on the windscreen. Funny how winter just shows up one day, totally unannounced.

It's not the first frost we've had, but it was more noticeable when I let the dogs out this morning.
We were in Knaresborough over the weekend and it was low 20s!

Yes, I was surprised when my low temp <3 deg warning went off as I arrived in Prudhoe this morning.

Ice? I was driving home from Heathrow last night and it was 17 degrees at night!
Then again, looks like the lows here are 4 degrees from Satruday so we get winter then...
I'm unsure of my tyre strategy this year.....

4 degrees with us, but no frost on any cars round about us. Herself noted the same is due over the next couple of days, then back up nearly to double figures again next week!
Well, according to the weather guessing app she uses anyway.

Not quite that bad in Doncaster this morning, a mild 6c, but it was the first time I’ve used the heated seats and wheel in this car. How quickly things change, I was enjoying cooled seats on Monday.

I think it’s a 3 tyre strategy for the QF if you want to do it justice. The std fit Corsas when it’s 15c+, current tyres for 7-15c or when it’s raining, then winters for below 7c. I’d need a small pit crew, my knees wouldn’t cope!

I think that's true in some ways! Though even higher limits than UHP tyres on the road are pointless, if it was doing track work they would be worthwhile, unless it throws up high-g oil pressure issues like in my Boxster (which is why its not been tracked). We do make an even more aggressive but road legal tyre than the Corsas, if you see it you'll appreciate its not for the wet. Cost no object, yeah, a set of winters, a set of UHP road tyres and a set of these all on the same OE lightweight wheels I have, would do: www.bridgestone.co.uk/car-tyres/summer-tyres-potenza/race1www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2022-Track-Day-Tyre-Test.htm

I don’t think the Corsas are too bad as a road tyre, I wouldn’t want the Potenza Race on a wet M1…!
The Macan GTS I drove had the Corsa as std fit due to the GTS Sport Pack, which has a nice mix of options but it’s a bit daft having those tyres on an SUV.
