Goodness, a chap forgets to log in for a few weeks and it gets exciting in his absence!
Congratulations. Selection of cars on this forum is starting to get quite serious!

Don't worry I'll be getting a new Octavia in a few weeks which will bring the average excitement level of the forum fleet back down a few notches!

Do you have a confirmed delivery date? Always a great day when you get a new car!

Sounds like you had better order its replacement now, then

It's the plug in hybrid which is why it's been delayed. You may notice that you can no longer configure PHEV models of most VAG vehicles. Essentially they're so good on BIK that there's a massive backlog of orders which has been exacerbated by some parts which are unique to VAG PHEVs that were sourced from Ukraine. The Octavia has it worse as one of its subframes was built in a factory that the Russians have flattened so Skoda have had to put together a whole new jig at the factory in Czechia to build them.
They're not the only manufacturer with these sorts of issues. My boss has a Ford Kuga PHEV and that took over 2 years from order to delivery.

I think it’s an older problem than that. I recall my father waiting two years for his hybrid Q5. And then when it finally turned up, he hated it and got shot within six months! At least demand was so strong that he was basically offered back what he paid for it against a new Macan S.

Ah, the joys of extended supply chains and only having one source for any component. Works fine till somebody starts a war....
