It was the last Bicester Scramble of the year today so it would have been rude not to go. Even more so, since it was planned to have a special gathering to mark 100 years since the launch of the Alvis 12-50. What started as the suggestion of a few Alvis drivers getting together to mark the event, grew arms and legs and ended up as a significant event, jointly arranged bt the Alvis Register and the Alvis Owner Club.
To start the day, a few of us gathered soon after sunrise at a club member's House for a breakfast meet.
We then drove in convoy through the lanes to Bicester to join the main event
Once at Bicester we joined the main Alvis display
In a separate display was the original Alvis straight eight GP car
As always, there was plenty of interest at Bicester, even for non-Alvis enthusiasts.
