What can people tell me about 2 litre Macans. I have a good friend for whom I have sourced cars for many many years (the first one was a 4 year old Triumph Spitfire!!!)
He has a discovery but would like to get a Macan for his wife. She isn't bothered about speed, more the style, so a 2 litre would be fine.
Budget is probably between £40K and £50K. This seems to put him in the10K to 20K mileage 2018 to 2020 cars.
When were the model changes and is there anything he should avoid.

The facelift was in 2019. I'd avoid the 2.0T.... I appreciate his wife isn't bothered about speed, but having the V6 will make it so much nicer and I assume the residuals will be better. If she does go for the 2.0, then avoid the base interior trim, so leather on the dash as a minimum and if style = bigger wheels, then air suspension would be good to have.

As Martin says, go for a facelift which was launched in 2019. Personally I find the 2.0T fine and will be more then enough for most people but the price difference between that and the V6 is only about 3K and the MPG isn't hugely different on paper though not sure how that translates to real life.
You need a few options like 21"s, Pano Roof, Bose, 14/18 way seats, Sports Pipes, LED's etc

Is the diesel not an option ? The newer cars don’t have it but it’s nicer than the 2.0 engine

Yes go for a Gen 2 car or newer - easily identified from the back as the back lights are connected by a light bar, whereas the Gen 1 cars had separate back lights.
Mainly because these get a much more up to date Nav interface and are just generally slightly more modern.
I’d say the leather dash is a must but full leather probably not. Agree that air suspension is good because they look much better on bigger wheels. I’d avoid the keyless go for obvious reasons. They look overly tarty in white.
Generally one of those cars where the more FG the merrier. It’s not actually hard to find well-loaded 2.0Ts as plenty of buyers preferred the meeker engine but still wanted all the creature comforts.
